Make upgrade item components visible
Many people will recognize this:
You have a staff wrap or head, a sword hilt you like... Than you try to upgrade and you are asked if you want to replace the existing component. But what exacactly are you about to replace? Not everyone has a list of components e.g. to recall whats on the staff's head, and what's on the wrap. My suggestion:
When asking to replace a component add the statistics that will be replaced. Something like this:
"Do you want to replace the vampiric sword hilt [life stealing:2 ; health regeneration: -1] by: fiercy swordhilt [firedamage]?
That would save a lot of trouble

hard to explain but you can know that easily,
if you have for example:
''Vampiric sword of defense''
3:1 vamp (this is always called a Sword HILT)
+5 armor (This is called a Sword POMMEL)
1st:So, when you have a enchantments pommel 20%, and you use it on that sword, you WILL replace the +5 armor thingy
2nd:Sword HILTS are shown BEFORE the weapons name
3rd: Sword POMMELs are shown BEHIND the weapons name
Np, greets steve

A good explanation and I'm aware of the fact that its possible to determine what is what. Problem is that you need to watch carefully: Where does the hilt component end, and where does the pommel begin? Same for heads and wraps. It happens way too often that I destroy a component I would like to keep. Thats why I think this should be 'plug and play'

Hilts, hafts, and heads are the prefix.
Pommels, grips, and wrappings are the suffix.
That should solve your dilemma.

Strings are a prefix.

Allright, I found this list, but its not complete:
http://www.guildwiki.org/guildwars/i...Weapon_upgrade
What about the additional modifiers? Will they be replaced by anything, will they disappear or won't they change at all after replacing both suffix and prefix? Its for things like this that I still think it would be helpfull to see what you get before upgrading items.

I can see why one might want to include it, just for the fact that someone may not know off hand, as well as possibly selecting a wrong item, just include it, no reason to tell someone how to figure it out, if they are here to post atopic and think they are the only people in the world to have encountered this, then why not just search?

Additional modifiers are uneffected. An upgrade only replaces a currently existing upgrade of the same type. A string for a string; a haft for a haft. It's simple, but unfortunately intimidating if you don't yet understand how it works.
