Guild Screen additions
Hey all. In the few months I've played guild wars there's always been one thing that's really bugged me. When accessing the Guild screen I've always wondered why the amount of info is so small. I understand that showing which members are online is useful, but I never understood why the devs never added the following things:
1)Guild member location - if in a town or outpost, what District are they in and which town/outpost
2)If in PvP, which arena
3)If in an instanced area, why not have an indicator beside their name saying "Instanced Area - Talus Chute" or something of that nature?
4)Along the same lines "Mission - Thunderhead Keep", etc.
I've found that one of the biggest headaches in-game is typing (or talking on TS if that's your bag) where guildies are located. Wouldn't it be much quicker if you could pop up a window and see the location of all guild members?
For those who wish not to be bothered in game it would be interesting to also add an "Invisible" option at start up/ login when you just want to enter for a few minutes and do a few character clean-ups without a ton of guild members engaging you in a long chat.
My 2 cents!

Most of that sounds alright, possibly more work than its worth for Anet.. As to an "invisible" option, open your friends window and switch to "offline" or "busy". While in offline mode, your name appears as if you are not logged in on the guild window, and is slightly grayed for "busy".

yea, Ive seen that option as well, but wouldnt it be a little better to have that option before even logging in? I can't tell the number of times I've gone in to just do some quick errands and have had newer guild members msg me instantly....
As for the work of Anet with the guild screen options, I would think that quick partying or streamlined guild abilities would make life easier for all guild members...especially officers and leaders.

I have to agree with the location indicator part of this, many times I have noticed my guilds chat mostly consists of "Where everybody at?" and "what everybody up to?".
Also, it would be nice to know what people are doing, just so you don't have to bother them or so people know you aren't just being rude by not reponding.
Edit: Woot just graduated to Citizen

Kir, that's really what I was getting at...it's too tiresome when in the heat of battle seeing fellow guildies looking for help or spamming you when you're obviously busy

sounds good, and it does get annoying having to type it, but why is the guild announcment space so small, they should make that larger.

Yeah the locator would be really awesome to have, but I guess Anet is busy working on "bigger" and "better" things such as observation mode Whohoooo :|

I love Larry's idea...it would be great if you pulled up your guild screen and saw a member at the same lvl as you so you can party with someone in your relative area, skill and progress. Especially in larger guilds it would be great to be able to jump in and be able to help someone develop new chars, etc without them having to beg for help.

I've been thinking about this idea for a long time and i think its great, takes out the hassel of saying "cant talk, in arena", or "HHHEEEEELLLOOOOO are you there, WWHHHEERRREEE are you??????????", for when your fellow guild members are to lazy to notice the chat .

Location, Class (P/S), Lvl and status would be great!
Yes, Location, Class (P/S), Lvl and status would be great!
We were getting ready to do a mission and we were looking for a high Lvl Monk to round out our team. Could have used that info!
And make the screen larger. I'm not looking at the guild screen while I'm in a mission. No need to see anything else.
