Animal Care Taker
Have you ever had a pet that you just didn't want to give up in order to get a new one? Well I think it would be cool if in each major city there would be some sort of animal care taker that could hold on to your pets while you can get a new one. You would have to pay for a kennel space maybe something like 500g-1k to rent a kennel space for a pet. Then you could go out and get a new one. Maybe a max of 2 pets in the kennel. Then you can switch pets. You don't have to pay for another kennel but maybe a small fee of 50-100g to take care of the new pet. Then each person would have the option of giving the pet away like the guy outside of ascalon. Anyone like this idea?

OMG LEVEL 20 WOLF WITH A LEVEL 4 RGR IN EARLY POST ZOMGROFLWTF
...yeah, needless to say people would give their pet to the kennelmaster before deleting their advanced ranger, and then picking him up with their lowlevel ranger in early post-searing.
Besides, you should only have one animal companion.

Well they could make it like they have with storage. There are no storage agents pre-searing.

If I recall correctly, pets are only linked to specific characters, and not to accounts. I don't see the OP mentioning a cross-character storage-type scenario, so I would assume this would be for each individual character.
...In which case I'd have to sign with a big fat "Yes." If you raise one pet you shouldn't have to go all the way back to raise it again if you want to switch back. It's just grind.

I think the person meant more like a temporary giveaway to Jarrel the Tamer. I know what he means:
I am obsessive about getting EVERY quest done-only with my ranger, really, as she's my main character. I run people from Ascalon City quite often and it irks me terribly to see Master Ranger Nente standing by the ruined statue of Balthazar with the mocking, green exclamation mark over his head. Why does he still have it? Because I skipped the "An Endangered Species" quest on my way west. I considered ditching my pet to do it (I had a lizard at the time) and forgot. Now, I've got a pet spider, and every time I run past Nente, the exclamation mark seems to have grown! I will not abandon Ungoliant to fulfill such an infantile quest, but I can't let it go either! I'd love to just hand Ungy over to Jarrel and say, "Watch her while I go do this, so she doesn't get jealous and kill the last Stalker" and come back to get my spider. And then we can live happily ever after!
It's not totally necessary, but it'd be great for ocd people like me, lol.
There could be some kind of condition-like the kennel is customized to the dropper's name-so that only that character who dropped the pet off can access it. And if you delete that character, then that pet is lost: kind of like customizing a weapon-even if you make a second character with the same name, it can no longer be equipped.

Sorry Rist, but I've gotta disagree with you on this. I wubs my Guenhwyvar, but I want to try out a wolf, and perhaps a Moa. This would be a good idea, assuming there's no cross-character pet trading. 'Cause, you know, that'd suck.

/signed as long as you're not allowed to pick up high level pets deposited by previous rangers with a lvl 9 in ascalon.

Ok to I'll try to make things clearer and be more helpful. It will be a daycare for only one character. Maybe the account will have a max of 3 or so pets in daycare. If you try and pick up a pet that your character didn't capture the daycare guy will say something like "this pet does not belong to you, get lost" or something like that. It would cost an amount of money to buy some space for your pet. Everytime you "deposit" a pet for another you pay a small fee. I know it is saying a lot of the things the first part did but I tried to make it clearer. Hope it helps.

Sounds like a good idea - but the fee shouldn't be a "one time fee" - but a pay rate. It should also be scaled according to the pet level. That way you aren't just keeping one lvl 20 Black Widow in storage just to help power level every new build you make.

and simple. its storage for the one char only. NOT so you can pass it to another char.

Already said that pets can only be taken out by the person who trained them and it is a fee everytime you "deposite" an animal. I think a constant fee would be a bit to much.

I'm sorry, but I really just don't see the point. All of the pets are the same except for appearance and damage type. There is absolutely no need to have more than one pet.
