a bunch of people already said that... but its horribly annoying. because now anyone thats not rank 6 is like a total noob. give it another month... and its gonna be only rank 9+. and then... i give up.
you should have to wear like a sticker on your back if the majority of your fame was earned in an iway team. it pollutes the system

Do casual gamers have the time to spend up to 2 hours simply ORGANISING a decent team? The answer is no almost 100% of the time, so people need a mix of simple team builds that can be thrown together, letting the average joe play tombs and stand a chance. Thats Iway. Simple, effective, can get some success, but easily countered. Thats the bottom line to be frank.
O and smurf.... surely a system of points gained over time defeats the object of a game thats based on player skill? Thats what rank is atm, and it needs fixing tbh. Whats probably needed is stats of some sort, then it will actually be the case that someone whos played pvp well for 10 minutes can be more valid than a person whos just run iway for 6 months. Of course, it would need to be toggable on/off in district, otherwise it would get smashed by ca :S

Maybe it would help if A-Net divided the Districts by rank. If your Rank 1 then you can only go to Rank 1 Districts, but if your maybe Rank 3 then you could go to Rank 1 - 3 districts. Then maybe the only time this wouldn't apply would be for Guild members or special invites from friends across Districts.

There is everything with IWAY. - Lets teh nooblars get to rank 6 very fast
- They don't actually learn anything
- Now, people that have worked HARD for their wolf are shiz out of luck, it doesn't mean anything. (T_T Me)
- Now you can't get a decent rank 6+ PuG. Most people are IWAYers. Now all it's about is who you know, only way to get a good group.

It is out of control... last night about 3/4 of the teams we fought were IWAY teams... it just gets boring playing against them.

It's not that it's boring, it's about the community IMO. Now it's polluted with rank 6 iwayers, now my wolf doesn't mean anything, and neither does anyone elses. <--Main grudge agianst IWAY

It's a bunch of newbie warriors (6) running towards your team and letting their pets (6) die(All pets have death nova). Then necros start using Orders and the warriors hit I WILL AVENGE YOU (+3-6 health regen and +33% attack speed)
It may sound good but it really sucks.

Yeah, it does seem like a pretty shady tactic. I prefer groups that don't use shady tactics, but unfortunately since most of the player base are quite a bit younger than I, they don't yet understand that there's more than one way to skin a cat. They don't seem to be interested in a serious, longwinded battle so much as they do in killing an opposing team as quickly as possible. That's why I'm a bit more into the RPG aspect until I go ahead and beat the game with my Necro/Mes and my Warrior/Monk to get all those skills that I'll need to erase my current PvP builds and make better ones.

Actually if you work out the dps its laughably good. When done properly (it usually isnt) However, there are numerous counters to warriors, which are well publisicized, and so basically the argument is a team of all warriors can be easily shutdown, therefore it sucks.

My guildies and I regularly run both a "serious" build and a "fun" modified IWAY. Why do we run an IWAY group, especially when we are capable players able to run more complex builds? Because if I have 5 guildies on who can take the critical positions (including target caller), I know I can find 3 nublets with at least enough brain cells to get on TS & do as they are told. I don't want to spend an hour building a team only to have 3 people rage quit when we discover the build needs tweaking.

Too many teams are IWAY and they dont involve any skill.
I dont think that getting rid of the rank/fame system would be a good idea at all! I have been working my way to rank 3 for a long time now and I know there are alot of people also proud of their ranks/fame. I never join IWAY teams because I dont want to be the "noob". If people want to join them they can but they are ruining the games for others and themselves.
If you want the best out of PvP I really think you should think about learning how to PvP not rushing into some IWAY team. You dont gain anything from using them. I agree 3/4 teams are IWAY.
I started back Ele Spike builds (or so I believe I did - In Europe atleast, dunno if Americans also use them now) but I also added something to my build. Wanna know what that skill is?
Whirlwind. Tell about 3 of your air eles to take it, stand in a ball and spam it. I have taken out IWAY teams like this and it only takes up 1 skill slot. I recommend this to people. It also involves skill not just spamming. If you use Ww at the same time it will only knock them down once.
I think nufing IWAY is actually a good idea though (imo). Then teams will be balanced. Ele spike builds can be killed, not sure about minion teams though? Although, at least you dont see 100s of them!
Also, I think the whole rank 1 teams vs rank 1 teams and rank 2 teams vs rank 2 teams is a good idea. Then one for mixed teams. Would be like GvG. Trys to find a team with the same total rank. Infact, I feel that is a very good idea. I think GW should add that! - I dunno if the staff actually check this kind of stuff out though?

If IWAY wasn't such a cheap way to get fame I wouldn't mind it. But like Le big mac says, it cheapens the rank system, and therefore it makes my wolf look like...A rabbit or something, and me a newbie sometime. I remember when I first got my wolf. It actually meant something.

People could be proud of stats ratings, which could easily invovle everyones *beloved* /fame icons. Its just that it would be an actual measure of skill as opposed to the general situation is now, which is how much fotm played. And, as mentioned, you wouldnt have to spend that long doing it to get equally 'cool' rewards.

Sure, Im only Rank 1 with no emote, but does it really matter that much to have an emote? I didn't get an emote for completing the game with 3 characters in PvE.

Some of the people in this game really really care.
Im rank 1, and barely ever get a group, then i get told im a noob by some idiot with mending when i do. So i leave, and just go to the ca and spend all day killing things, and wait for guild members to come on who arent goddam idiots.
Did i say really?

I don't think IWAY is nearly as cheap a way to get fame/rank as you're making it out to be. I've rarely lost to a random PUG IWAY, and I've deserved to lose when I did. Also, my guild's IWAY modification works quite well as long as the randoms we get do what they are told to do. It requires at least the 5 of us to be thinking, sentient beings capable of doing more than tab + space.

i just hate the fact that half the players in tombs is spamming iway warrior lfg, an necro lf iway, but thats just me.
it just seems that people can't seem to think for themselves. they just latch on to the FOTM. but there are reasons for this.
a. people can always get into this group
b. not much skill or coordination needed
c. fame/rank farming( yes more farming/mindless grinding )
c(cont.) "skilled people" mostly look for only rank 3+, in international r6+. to me thats just ridiculous. i'm only r2 atm and am able to create almost anybuild needed/ able to cooperate with members, but still get rejected cause i'm not r3. r6 would take me like 2 months to get.

They all say you must be rank 3+, yeah its annoying BUT it shows people that you know what to do in tombs and you are experianced. Its easy for people to say, Yeah, im rank 2 153 fame blahaha.
