[Concept Profession] Dragon Knight / Dragoon
Well, this idea is revolves around assuming they add a large amount of areas, outposts, and monsters. Obviously a variety of Dragon-type monsters. This idea might even cross over from Final Fantasy XI, but I think its a good idea. I saw actionjack's layout and I liked it, so I used it. Sorry. :P
Profession: Dragon Knight / Dragoon
Energy: [Should be between a Ranger and a Warrior, but since its a melee based character, we should really have it at around, 20. And have like a mana giving armor like Gladiators for Warriors.] 20~27. 2~3 pips of regen.
Armor: [Dragoon should be able to substitute as a tanker, so the armor should be roughly between that of a Ranger and a Warrior, maybe depending on the armor.] 75~85.
Weapons: [Because a Dragon Knight / Dragoon is roughly a melee/physical damage dealer, it should be able to wield several weapons, mainly two handed ones.] Spear, Two-Handed Sword, One-Handed Sword/Shield, or even a Halberd.
Spear: 18-28 Max Dmg. [1.5 second refire rate.]
Two-Handed Sword: 10-30 Max Dmg. [1.5 second refire rate.]
Halberd: 25-35 Max Dmg. [2 second refire rate.]
Premise: Because there is a lack of face to face combat, a Warrior which is made to tank, there is a lack of in your face action, so basically a Dragon Knight is built to push away from that idea. Not only able to take some hate away from the main tank or even help control a second aggro'd group. The Dragon Knight would probably work on adrenaline as well, similar to the warrior, but probably it would be equalized between skills.
Attributes:
Dragon Mastery {Primary}: Similar to Beast Mastery for Rangers, Dragon Mastery would allow a Dragon Knight to either summon a "Dragon" or a "Wyvern." to aid, either on a timed limit, or as a quick spell. This would mainly be made up of mana skills Each level up strengthens, increases timer, etc of that of the wyvern/dragon.
Dragon: Damage varies on level. Refire rate: 2.5~3 seconds
Spear Mastery: Like Sword, Axe, and Hammer Mastery, this is Spear Mastery. Each level up increases damage of skills and of base damage of weapon.
Two-Handed Sword Mastery: Similar to above.
Halberd Mastery: Similar to above.
Endurance {Possible Primary if switched with Dragon Mastery}: It is a knight, but because its armor is somewhat weaker than that of warriors, the only other way to counter high damage is with more health. Each upgrade increases your health by 1.5 as well as upgrades skills associated with Endurance.
Special Concept:
Dragon Mastery {Primary}:
Okay, you can either have a summon wyvern/dragon for a certain amount of time, and have its own little Effects box as "Pet" or "Dragon" or whatever, and its got its own little recast, and lasts however long or a maintainable enchantment. Then theres also the Wyvern/Dragon used as just an animation for spells such as Dragon fire and junk. The first way can work as a Melee Damage Dealing thing, the second works as a melee spell caster type thing.
Spear Mastery:
Self explanatory. :E
Two-Handed Sword Mastery:
Blah blah blah too. :/
Halberd Mastery:
Uhm, pretty simple explanation. :L
Endurance:
Alright, this works a little similar to Energy Storage, which is why I say it can be used as the primary instead of Dragon Mastery. :P
Example Skillz
Dragon Mastery:
Summon Wyvern/Dragon:
||Mana: 20||Cast Time: 10 seconds||Recast: 120 seconds||
Summon/Pet. For xx seconds, pet Wyvern/Dragon is summoned and acts like a pet.
Fiery Breath:
||Mana:5~10||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:20 seconds||
Wyvern/Dragon Pet Call. Wyvern/Dragon unleashes a fiery fury upon the foe dealing xx-xx damage. Also causes burning for 1-2 second(s).
Icey Breath:
||Mana:5~10||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:20 seconds||
Wyvern/Dragon Pet Call. Wyvern/Dragon unleashes an icey fury upon the foe dealing xx-xx damage.
Poisonous Breath:
||Mana:5~10||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:20 seconds||
Wyvern/Dragon Pet Call. Wyvern/Dragon unleashes a stinky/poisonous breath upon the foe causing the foe to be inflicted with poison for xx seconds.
Tail Whip:
||Adrenaline:3~5||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:...Whenever..?||
Wyvern/Dragon Pet Call. Wyvern/Dragon unleashes a tail whip dealing xx blunt damage.
Spear Mastery:
Piercing Thrust:
||Adrenaline:4~8||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:...Whenever..?||
Spear Attack. You deliver a piercing thrust to the enemy dealing +xx damage. 10% penetration.
Sweep:
||Mana:5~10||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:30 seconds||
Spear Attack. Sweeping the area infront of you, you deal dmg to a small range of enemies. You only deal +xx damage.
Two-Handed Sword:
Power Slash:
||Adrenaline:4~8||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:...Whenever..?||
Two-Handed Sword Attack. Powerful Slash dealing +xx damage.
Halberd:
Devestating Slash:
||Adrenaline:4~8||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:...Whenever..?||
Halberd Attack. [You can see my mind starting to turn to goo around here.] Deal +xx more dmg.
Endurance
Buff Up
||Mana:5~10||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:45 seconds||
Skill. By activating this skill, you increase your health by +xx, but you are more vulnerable and you lose armor by xx[decrease with increased level.].
Background Story:
With the increase of Dragons in Tyria, there is more terror! As dragons sweep the world, fear is struck in every human as they hope to live to the next day. You never know when they'll strike, but no more fear! As danger reveals itself, humans find new ways to adapt and contain their troubles, and this is where the Dragon Knight comes to play! D:<
Issues:
Seems too similar to a W/R or a R/W I suppose. There are unique qualities, but ideas seem to flutter away as I wrote this. Maybe I'll add on or you can give some suggestions. :P

I think the dragoon should stick to polearms/lances and change your attributes around.
Basically...the unique attribute MUST make the other attributes work better. IE: Secondary dragoons can never be as good as primary dragoons in being a dragoon.
And you must add "JUMP"!!!!

Wikipedia:
"During the late 17th and early 18th centuries a dragoon was traditionally a soldier trained to fight on foot, but transport himself on horseback. In other words, he moved as cavalry but fought as infantry. The name derives from the dragoon's primary weapon, a carbine or short musket called the dragon. Sometimes, dragon carbines are said to have been so-called because they "breathed fire" — a reference to the smoke they emitted when fired."
Final Fantasy Dragoons can date back to Final Fantasy 4 (SNES 1990) with the infamous Cain, although he didnt ride anything, he did use a lance/spear.
And since GW is desperately in need of a polearm class, i think a dragoon would fit just fine.

Decent class concept. The Spear and/or Halberd should have an attack where you make an enemy move back out of melee range eg.
Halberd/Spear thrust
||Adrenaline:4~8||Cast Time:Instant||Recast:Longish I guess...||
Halberd/Spear Attack. If this attack hits deal 0-10 damage and force target foe out of melee range.
This would be fairly useful for stopping enemies from attacking a monk/squishy but no use in PvP.

JUMP!!!!!
A decent concept class. Spliting between spear and halbar is actually a interesting idea, but might cut the possible skills too thin, and become too similar (like sword and axe). too many offensive weapon handling skills, and not much "helper" skills. Summon pet seem strange, but guess it is doible if made it where you can call onw them, and they will fly down. The primary might need some work on too to make it tie better with enhancing the disadvantage of this class and blance with other. (endurance seem to be a better choice.) And yes, Drgaoon is anot a dragon knight, but a cavalry. the Japanese sorta missinteruperate that as a Drgaon Knight type of guy.
There was another nicely done Dragoon before, of similar concept. I never got the chance to write me one yet (a revision of my Knight, which is sorta a Defender/Rider/Spearer). It will having Dragon Riding/Mount skills, (so it is a real Dragoon), Breath attcks, Spear/lance/Polarm, and SOMTHING. (cann't think of it) So leave some of those attribute open for me....
And don't worry Kago, that layout was jack from someone else too.

Here i think is a little refinement of Kago's original skillset idea.
Primary Only:
Rider Mastery - only a primary dragoon can summon its animal ride into battle. The rider only skills should include stances that boost the effectiveness of the other skill lines, as well as using the animal ride for attacks.
Polearm Mastery -Two-handed Spears, Halberds, Poleaxes and basically slashing polearms all fit into this category. This would hold all the slashing and hooking skills.
Lance Mastery - One-handed Lances and Spears and thrusting polearms fit into this category (the other hand holds a shield). This would hold all the charging or knockdown and thrusting skills.
I think seperating the two-handed polearm from the one handed polearm (after all, you can wield a spear in both ways) will definitely diversify this class.
Rider Mastery:
Braced Stance: For the next 9 seconds, your knockdowns will last 1-2 seconds longer.
Polearm Mastery:
Dragging Hook: Polearm Skill. If this attack hits a moving target, they will be knocked down and pulled towards you.
Lance Mastery:
Friendly Shove: Lance Skill: This attack knocks down a target ally for 1-5 seconds and makes all physical attacks miss while the target ally is knocked down.
Charging Thrust: Lance Skill: This attack must be activated outside of melee range. If this attack hits, the target is knocked down and suffers weakness for 5-10 seconds.
Spartan Stance: Stance: You gain +40 armor and attack 33% faster but you move 75% slower for 5-10 seconds.

Wow, you jack my idea and made it even better! Bastar!
But its okie. Here is my link to Knight (post date is actually before the game). Its old, and is one of my first, so by today standard, it is terrible. But I will still stick with the concept of Ridesmanship in there, which the moun have its own "temper" issue, and harder to control. And don't forget that Polearm weapon have a special bonuse against or on Mounts. Maybe, someday, when the sky turn blue and I can hear the butterfly sings, I will try and revise/revie that concept. Until then, rock on, creative brains.
