After thinking about it some more, this could work.
along with the idea of a job profession (miner, logger, hunter), you earnt he resources you need to build and furnish your home.
Paying out massive amounts of gold is nice..if you have it.
However, if you gather the materials in a rewarding fashion witht he ultimate rewards being your house/upgrades, then it could be fun to do.
Just as long as we dont hear people trying to spam selling x amount of x material for 10k or something like that. The only way around that is what you collect is yours and is applied to your selected design of a house.

i want a house but im an ele so i guess the ele set could be filled with spell books and stuff, maybe like a painting somewhere depicting all the elements and um some other stuff and also houses should come with a "traning area" so u can test your new skills out on dummies or lvl 0 river skales from pre-seared lol itd be fun (no drops tho) u can buy a bigge traning area ect or even buy new npcs for training maybe even some exclusively for training, before u entered u could say how many of the npcs u want in the room and if u die u get resurrected back at main part of home i would love training area because i might try to test out a pvp guy n comp arenas but i always die so thats not very effective ok im starting to ramble so im gonna post this

Ah, Risty, you forget one thing: instances. It doesn't matter how many people want their house in X location, as long as they don't overlap when you're in a party, it's all good. And even if it did, you'd just go to your house, not anybody elses.

Default You Guys Have It All Wrong!

You're all trying to apply old ideas such as storage and health regeneration to concept that could be much more complex. For example, Rangers would be able to store and take care of multiple pets in their house. Also, houses could serve as an ingame connection to forums such as this one. Furthermore, objects placed in the house could give some advantage outside. For example, an focus object in your house could benefit you in the PvE game. Finally, you could use your house as a place to take target practice at monsters outside it.

just my 2 cents...

Ooo I like this idea. Especially about having the houses in the guild hall, it's kinda like the Suikoden game for ps. The more soldiers you had the more diversified your base looked. I'm getting Animal crossing nostalgic too, I'd like to have a house to customize <(^@^)>

I wouldn't want it on some boring island...besides, i don't have a guild hall and i never will have one.
I hope the idea get's implemented in the future and they give us a chance to choose the exact location...not some pre-chosen areas. That way we would all be satisfied.
Much rather have it in my favourite zone overlooking a nice landscape.

Anyway, i think i've said my piece on this matter...just got to hope for some "It's coming soon guys...chill" types of posts from Gaile.
I wish.

I suspect that you're more likely to get spanked with that avatar do hickey of yours...though maybe you wouldn't think that was so bad.

I'm just saying wouldnt a new Home just be like a secondary Guild Hall? Also the Guild Hall should cost WAY more then a house, not the other way around.

I don't get it, there was so many people againist this idea. Now everyone's begging for houses! Heh, hey I'm glad to see the turn around! Oh, someone mentioned about having rooms...a long time ago I posted that since guilds can have 100 members, why not make living area that could be 10 rooms to a floor. (10 rooms x 10 floors = 100) Actually since it's programing you could do it many ways, but i'm not a GW programer so what do I care...

mmmh rooms in the guild hall? I like this, well I like the whole Idea of having a house, specially if you could get diferent sets to choose from just like the GH. But I think a housing should be implemented only inside guilds? why? well the GH as it is now looks more like the front of a caste/fort but there's so much space "behind" all halls for example, nomads, wizards, dead, forzen look like big structures that are the entrance to the fort... but what about that Guild feeling?

so just as Jhonny pointed out you could have 100 rooms ten per floor/district. in some stanced area like the hall accesible to members from the GH..maybe Guild town? or residence?..or just dormitors? dont know but you get the idea? and in this residence area you can add people to your party..and hit enter room..BAM you just invited them to your room/house/dungeon/hut whatever it is.

if you made the residence area an add to the GH you could make it instanced more easily, just like a town your guild mates can access, instead of an instanced house in the middle of nowhere. plus it gives you something else to look for after you've gotten your GH.

Also, many people has mentioned about having armorers, merchants, Xunlai, and all the city stuff on the Hall, if the residence area was implemented you could have them there instead of the Hall wich is the "military" part of the guild. This way you could achieve something much closer to what the lore says, you could have rooms/houses in the form of a castle, or like a guild controlled town, a big dungeon maybe?, or a hunters village? gigantic library? a theater? a monastery maybe? (just trying to cover all classes here)

talking about monasteries..if GH customization and housing could be implemented...just imagine all the things you could add to your "residential area"

I know I know...PvPers will hate the idea, but then again it wouldnt affect them as the changes wouldnt take place in the GH directly, but in another area in your island "behind" the GH.

ahhh Im dreaming awake, GW its my first MMORPG but by reading tons of messages about others MMORPGS I dont think this kind of customization could be achieved in a non-instanced game. ahaha Im imagintaing so much stuff you could buy/earn for your town, plus it would be the money sink that is needed..and this would certainly keep the economy balaced...what the economy needs are more money sinks..so PvPers be happy we could spent all the money that enters the game through HoH ;o)

sorry for my crappy english ><

It'd be awesome if this were put in the Guild Hall. My guild is huge so we could have our rooms and everything. Plus you could probably buy posters and what not for your room. But I doubt this will be considred by a-net.

Yeah, I think it's retarded, but since everyone seems to like it, and if signing here actually means something to Anet (which it most likely doesn't. I mean, this is an online petition... not even on par with the Flobee for being useful), then consider me

I got no problem reaching consensus.

im with you on that one brother. If they added a merchant or a rune trader or something to the GHs they would be cooler.

OMG REVOLATION!

What if in Guild halls there was a Guild Vault! only Officers or the Leader could access it. And it was HUGE like could hold up to 100 items. Currently we have a person in our guild who holds that status, but im sick of needing something while he's not on.

Guild Halls just need some Pazazz! like a casino ^.^ /roll 100 heehehe

but seriously. Guild halls suck right now, they just need something in them to make players want to hang out in them.
