Two handed swords
I just had an idea i have noticed that in game there are two handed hammers and stuff but i havnet seen any two handed swords, i personally feel that a warriors first chioce in Damage dealing weapons would have to be the Two handed sword i would like to see what people whould think on this matter and if it is a good idea or not.
I think it is a good idea because i have noticed a lot of people who seem to use a sword without a sheild (like me) and they tend to go for the longer sword such as the fellblade or the Long sword to make themselfs look or feel like they are weilding a two handed sword.
Please please please answer to this it was just an idea but i hope that most of you will agree with me that people like two handed swords as well as single handed sword.

OK, would this be cosmetic only (Two handed swords combining the attributes of both weapon and shield), or would they give extra damage at the cost of less armor?

For a 2 handed sword it would have to be extra damage at the cost of less armor, but, mods could be added for extra armor, and thens theres stances anyways so no real major loss.
The Damage would have to be same range as hammer, maybe with some minor knockdown ability cause lets face it a 6 foot long piece of steel being swung with 2 hands at somebody's chest would knock them down!

This would be better implemented in a new class, barbarian or something, rather than trying to add it to warriors. I'd love 2H Swords though!

I was thinking that also the game seems to revole around the magical dragons that never show up in the game and there fore there should be a class that worships the dragon so i was thinking like Dragon Knight or sothing along thoses lines that could use the 2hander it might be Ott but i like dragons so lol

Ok, I have 2 thoughts here, 1) We really can't say the new classes that are coming for sure, so asking for a new class to achieve a new weapon seems kinda overkill. The Devs have a model for the chars hold a 2 handed weapon, aka hammer, it should be difficult designing skins for new 2 handed swords. As I am not a porgrammer I can't say for sure but I would think and new weapon is easier than a new class.
2) Kinda off topic but, I always though of once reaching the desert instead of changing profession for secondary, you actually had the choice of specializing in a subclass of your primary, or keep you secondary as is.
Eg. Warrior/beserker

Great idea, in turn for being 2 handed & not being able to carry a shield or focus item, the item should have a higher damage expectancy along with some kind of higher mods or + armor or something to that effect to make it worthwhile to use.

I disagree on needing skill balancing and new skills etc. 2H weapons generally are slower than 1H weapons. You do give up defence, but there is the added damage.

Thats why when your reach the desert you chose to keep your secondary or switch to your specialized class instead of swtiching to a new secondary.
You still end up with 2 professions per say, with my idea the second is a specialized class based on your primary.

I do believe that sword/axe warriors should have a bit more dmg output, and the skills shouldnt change.
Maybe just the casting time (if not an adrenal skill)

Off topic, but I always thought that it would be cool if you decided to permently set your Primary/Secondary after you Ascend. you would get some unique skills for that particular combo (like a W/N Skill).
Might be unbalanced, though.

Hehe yeah sorry about that guys, Cresst got me thinking after his post about dragons.
Yeah Mordakai, I though of the unbalanced too, but like everything else electing to specialize in a class means losing the flexibility of a second class. Although specializing in a warrior subclass gains you access to a few unique skills, its not an uber class. As we all know having your entire skill bar devoted to skills of you one class is almost suicide, this is just a though I had, haven't reasoned out pros and cons yet.

Much as it would be nice to see them, it's really not a good idea. Warriors in PVP only bother with shields because they have an empty hand anyway. If 2H swords/axes were added, nobody would want to give up damage for more armor. Shields and 1H swords/axes would become a mark of inexperienced players, almost as bad as Mending.
(One need only look at World of Warcraft for an example of a similar game where this has already happened, incidentally.)

stop bashing mending it keeps you alive long enough to get your job done. it wasn't made for anything more and if your a w/mo your made to stay alive not heal others.
i so want a 2 handed sword i always thought the axes should have been 2 handed in the first place
