Improving Marketing System
hi all
i thought of 2 ways to sell and buy items easily and without even waste hours to find a single buyer he even will not buy only giving u advices about ur prices for himself only.
A- add new merchant in the cities like ascalon and lion arch who is responsible for sells my items for some fees. (not auction - buyer must buy as price required so items prices wil not go too high).
B- see the image i attached:
1- a new button appears near my name just as trade button but its for marketing so i can put 4 to 8 items for sale with prices so any1 wants to know what items i need to sell just press that button to open the items list for sale. its easy to buy, only drag to his inventory to buy the item.
2- advertising appears every time i enter any outpost every 15 sec and automatically posting. its better than flooding message even i cant read because more than 100s want to sell and posting everywhere.
i think its better to think of a way to improve selling and buying without make prices too expensive.

Nice eye candy. This idea reminds me of EQ2's "Fencers" for the "Black-market" =) Elaborate some more on how this would benefit us now except cutting spam, and I might /sign it.

hi Shimus
i didnt play everquest1 or 2 to know how exactly working but i'll take alook soon
i donno how to explain in detail but i'll try so be patient
merchant can sells my item:
this is not an auction because auction for sure will raise prices too high in a day and it will not be for every 1 even new or poor players.(read my openion about auction house)
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...t=20264&page=6
about the merchant who can sells my items for some fees: (fixed price for items)
- i can only sell 2 items daily means for 24 hours and down payment 10g per item or/and % of selling price.
- for poor players: they can pay 25% - 50% or 75% of the max price and the rest for some payments later but if he didnt pay whole price in time the item will disappear from his inventory and 10 - 20% of his payment will be mine as a rent.
- i can put some items for rent too example:
if someone will do a quest or mission in an area that has many undeads as enemy, he can rent a shield has an advantage like (armor+7 vs undead) for this or many quest in the same area so, the unusual items or items will not be usable all the time like this shield will be great as rent for many hours and the owner will not sell it to the merchant or to a new player in the game.
- the item that the merchant will sell it or rent it for me will be gray or inactive in my inventory so after 24 hour will be active automatically if no 1 buy it but for the items i want to rent it will stay all the time for 10g each 12-24 hours with the % of rent price.
-----------------
another way to sell only for whole fixed price: (look at the picture again)
#1 its a list of my items which i want to sell so i can only show 4 items as max or 8 it doesnt matter for now so if i want to sell clean max bow i can put it in this list with fixed price so any1 wants to buy this bow just drag it into his inventory and the price will be paid automatically without even talk to me but ofcource i'll notice that some one is trying to buy or already bought from me and what he bought and how much money added in my money pocket.
#2 its advertising will post it self automatically when i enter any city, town or mission and i can also write what i want to be appear as advertising for example, if i put max clean bow with 3 other items i'll write an advertising like this "buy any item ang get dye for free" or "selling bow, hammer, wand and black dye". it will appear in the trade section every 15-30 sec automatically.
so, selling will not be hard like before or spamming in trade section.as the system in the game now spamming in trade section is unbelievable even if i was a falcon i'll not be able to see 1 of them.
i tryed to explain in detal and add more thing to the solution and i hope its clear now but if not please tell me i'll try to explain more more

like it all except the advertising. we have enough spam. if someone is feeling in the slightest spending mood, they can just go and view the items themselves ina big window. unless the advertising appears only in the trade channel so i can ignore it.

advertising not a spam its to reduce the spam so the trade chat box will no longer for use or u can write on it because it will be only for the automatic advertising every 30sec for each user and no proplem if it will appear every 1min. all this to reduce the spam
please read my second post

I'm don't like idea A because it removes player to player interaction and economics. I'd rather have the EQ1 bazaar where you can setup shop and be afk while the prices YOU set determine whether you sell or not. In this environment, you have to search everyone else's price point on the same item, and take volume into consideration in order to make a sale. Make the price too high, and you'll never sell. Make it too low, you'll sell but will not maximize you're profit, as well as off set you ROI ratio for time vs. profitibility.
Part B is similar to another thread going on right now, about being able to at least place a clickable link via drag-and-drop of the item into the trade channel. You're idea is slightly different, but the concept is very close. I might suggest checking out the thread titled "chat options" regarding this to compile ideas under one thread and develop it further if needed. Otherwise, the second part of what you are referring to in Part B would be addressed via a Bazaar system like EQ1's, where all of your items up for sale (limited number of spots) can be browsed by everyone in the zone.

the main goal of A is to not waste ur time in selling so internet cafe players can use it as the best selling way. but ur solution as eq1 is waste of time and u can rent items.
second goal is the buyer cannot knows who is the owner of the item. so new player or nonexperience players in prices and selling can sell their items in other way easily without any kind of players want to exploit a noob.
i remember when i got my fleshweaver staff and a player came to me and said "i'll pay 1k!! its the same as the staff from the collector"
if i was new in game i'll sell it to him which mean unfair behavior.

I think you can polish your idea a little more. I dont play pve anymore but when i did i NEVER sold anything because you had to endlessly spam for like an hour while trying to compete with other guys who had a huge inventory and can cut down your price. Basically anything that will save time for the user is a great idea.
I would still prefer an auction house however. I dont care whos idea it was.

Is it possible to have a Merchant Area, where one can just paddle their wares like in some other typical MMO? (with AFK player that have a message on top adverstising what goods, click on them to show the goods) That way, might actually help reducing farming some how (since they would need to sit still for a bit)
Also add to that a Guild Merchant, where if you guild can pay for a Guild merchant (charge fees) who can sit for you and sell the stuff your guild put on him. just a thought.

still waste of time
the main goal of my ideas specially the merchant idea is selling and buying without wasting hours to sel or look for items u need
i'll add a post about how easy u can look or search for what u need from thousands of items that the merchant is selling.

good idea but still waste of time
how many guild in the game?
how many merchant will be for all guilds?
it will be too crowd merchants, means waste of time to search ur item and also sold items will be less than required for each guild.
only 1 merchant need in the game so any player wants to buy just go to him.

oh
this is the search system for what u r looking within merchant items
look at the attached image
this is how the search will looks like when u want to buy a bow as example
-----------
1- Weapons: bow - hammer - sword - staff - wand - rod - axe
2- flat - composite - recurve - short - long - eternal - storm - horn - shadow - fellblade - war - dragon - jeweld etc...
3- is the dmg u r looking for- 15-28 is the max dmg for bows
4- require 9 or 8 or 11 whatever (for bows marksmanship is the only requires)
5- domination magic - death magic - curces - illusion etc..
6- elemental or physical dmg only for rangers and warriors.(it depends on what u select in 1# box.
7- fiery - icy - ebon - shocking
8 - it depends on what u select in 6# bow example:
if u selected in 6# bow a physical damage and selected in 7# sundering, u will need to select the percentage in 8#.
9- the bonus damage 12% - 13% - 14% to 20%
(above 15% only for below 50% health)
10- also for bonus dmg - while enchanted - above 50% health - below 50% health - while in stance - vs hexed - while hexed - always (this must have penalty for energy or armor)
11- enchantment - marksmanship+1 - armor - health or fortitude
12- 10% to 20% longer - +4, +5, +6 and +7 - +20 to +30 health
13- all - vs physical - vs elemental
some boxes will not be availeble for items like shields or haft etc...
Red Marker
here where u should put a price below or above it or u can let them blank.
Green Marker
search same will searches exactly as u selected but search similar will decrease or increase 1 point means if u pushed the search similar, the bows with dmg 15-27 also will appear in the result.
Last Word
please dont discuss any other marketing systems from other games, if u have any complain on this just write it.
2 days later i'll add the last post about the final idea about improving marketing system for Guild Wars Game or i'll edit the 1st post.
i thought of this idea because many of us suffered from spam message, full inventory and wasting hours just to sell or to buy what u need.
