New Chat System
Ok, this is my first visit to these forums.
I came here because I had an idea that I thought would be interesting.
Ok, here it is:
I was thinking about the chat system in Guild Wars. I like the breakdown of the different chats into All-Guild-Party-Trade-Whisper. But, I was thinking of something else.
Would it be possible or acceptable to have a chat system in where a player could listen in on dialogue that is taking place in different cities?
Could a player located in Lion's Arch (District 3) be able to listen in on conversations taking place in Ascalon (District 1).
I realize that right now, this is not possible. But, what if they modified it so a player could do this?
They could have it set up so that they have their max number of players located in that specific city and district (Ascalon District 1 for example). But, they could then allow other players to listen in on what people are saying there from other places.
You could null their chat priveledges so they can't type, but just listen.
I think this would help out the trading economy in Guild Wars because players that go to District 1 and display the items they are trading could reach more people then they have been able to in the past.
Now, I realize that there would be a problem with cross-server transfer of data, but that is still doable.
This is just something I was thinking about. Looking forward to your feedback on this.
Thanks,
Tgod
