Snowball Arena! X mas special
It start with a basic idea for possible X mas event add on, but it turn out to be a pretty good idea (at least I think it is), so I will make a more detail post about it...
First Open up a special Snow Ball Arena (maybe like in the Yak's Band?) That is open for all levels. Like any 4v4 Arena, you just click enter and will automaticly find teams. Special Rule apply. Everyone, regardless of your level, armor, skills, hp, energy, is 3 hit (with snow ball) kill. Your can use NONE of your regular skill here, how ever you can use the Special Snow Ball Skills (read on for more detail)

Snow Ball Skills
You earn those by Trading your (Snowflake Points?) to a Priest in the Arena. You earn the Points by winning or hitting other player. You can only carry up to 3 skills at once. All snow ball throwing skill will need to be first Prepared (2 seconds, you are immobile), and click again to throw at your target. Will have the range a bit less than that of bow. Throw Snow Ball is the defult that everyone will have.
Possible skills
Snowball Shot:
Throw a Snowball, count as 1 hit, 2second preparing.
Long Shot:
Longer Range than regular shots
In your Face Shot:
Half the Range, but count as 2 hit.
Fast Shot:
Count as half hit, but only need 1 secnd to prepare.
Big Snowball:
Count as 2 hit, 4 second preparing.
Hot CoCo:
Passive, you can endure 1 more Hit.
Quick Dodge:
In T seconds, you have 75% chance to Dodge income snow ball
Snow Shield:
In T seconds, you can block on Hit
Run in the Snow:
In T second, you move 33% faster
Frost Bite:
Doesn't count as hit, but make your target move slower
Rock in Snowball:
5 second prepare time, know down target for 2 seconds.
Yellow Snow Ball:
6 second to prepare, but is One hit kill (because it is yellow )
and More!
I feel this would greatly encourage PvP play, and bring back one thing that GW is missing... Pure FUN!

love it, love it, love it.
Don't make it in Lornar's Pass, though. Even though it is open to all levels, it should be in Yak's Bend at some random dwarf snowball guy, cos if you think, how in realistic terms are level 1s gonna get past level 24s to reach Lornars Pass? - lol...

this is pretty cool. I would play this game all the day long. I can just see some lvl 20 gettin owned by a lvl 5. There should be prizes for winning like 5 in a row. How about an uncustomized santa cap for every 5 wins.

heh maybe put in temporary arena guards in all the major towns? Including in pre-sear. Talking to them will immediately take you to the arena waiting area. Let's everyone join, even 'newbies' and shouldn't be too difficult to implement i think.

I don't think there's enough time for ANet/NCSoft to create this all the graphics, models and such and the arena within the time limit it is from now and they'll probably release the Christmas event about a week or so before actual Christmas, so I don't think they'll have time.
Maybe if they no-life a few days?

How about just giving everyone a "/snowball **player name**" emote that lets you throw snowballs at people. Since you can already use staffs to throw those fire ball type things, they'd just need to change it to a harmless snowball shape and let them throw it. Just an idea, all that stuff is a bit excessive for a one time deal.

If Anet did put in this idea before Christmas, I think it'd have to be very simple. Fighting with snowballs in some arenas would not make sense, such as the one with lava and such. However, I don't think they would have time to make an entire new map.
What I was thinking is, the Shiverpeak Arena is snowy, right? So first they can take that and copy it. Then, they add snowfall all over it. To get a snowball obviously, you pick it up from the ground, so hey, you simply click on the ground. Once you've picked it up, you click on the target to throw it.
Then there would be a set of simple snowball skills such as actionjack's ones at the top, and they would be adrenal skills, so they build up as you throw more snowballs. And to add to the map more, the could place obstacles, so if someone is hiding behind one and someone throws at them, the snowball would hit the obstacle.
So then, everyone would just be running around like crazy and it would be quite like a real snowball fight cos you're making them off the ground.
And then would add this copied and edited arena at another gate in Yak's Bend so not too many low levels miss out, and there could also be another one in pre-searing at Folibles Fair.

Even if Anet doesn't have time to do it for this Christmas, it is a great idea and they can keep it in mind for next year.
