I really wish the RPers would go play an MMORPG. No offense, but it just isn't that kind of game. I won't start playing chess for example, and then suggest that it needs dice, little swimming pools for the pieces, different shaped boards because I don't like the square and so on - it's chess, you play chess or play another game. GW isn't your game obviously. GW is about PvP and PvE, true, but it is an action RPG essentially, and I would argue that what we call RPGs are for the most part not RPGs, any more than a golf or sports game is an RPG - sure, it's a game, and you play a role, but that's true of Mortal Combat or NHL 2005. If you are the kind of person who picks up NHL 2005 and thinks "Well, I'd like to see how the players live; what do they do off the ice? I want to decorate their house!" you are clearly playing the wrong game; the same holds for GW. Instead of trying to mess up a good game, go play one that has the features you want.

The main thing i want them to add in for PvE would be more storage. and i dont need a damn house to have extra storage. just add in more runes of storage for all i care, that would help a lot actually.
PvP, man they really need updates on that. I like to play both PvP and PvE but the only reason i'm mostly on PvE is because of the new updates they give it. PvP on the other hand, all they really did was fix bugs on it. The snowball arena was a nice touch but i dont think that would really be considered a PvP update.

IDK why people keep telling others to go to Runescape just because they want more variety in the game, and why people are getting pissed because we want more variety in the game. It's really not that hard a concept to stay away from fishing or buying a house. This is a place where you post ideas, maybe your the one that should be getting off the site.

Simple. Variety is not always a good thing.
Adding bells and whistles to a product may seem nice, but it takes the attention away from what the product was supposed to do. Guild Wars is supposed to provide a grind-free, skill-based competitive online combat experience. That is a focused, polished product. There is no need to dilute it with other "variety" for the sake of having more to do. Like Epinephrine said, if I wanted to play chess, I use a chess set. I don't want to use a crappy chess set that lets me customize the looks of my rooks and knights. I want a chess set that lets me play chess. If I wanted to role-play, I would go play an RPG. I wouldn't try to make my chess board into a Dungeons and Dragons board.
There's a reason why people are suggesting Runescape. It has all the features you're looking for, and it's free. So why not?

Hrhm... when was the last time you visited www.guildwars.com (The one and only truly official webpage for Guild Wars) and checked what it says under Game Synopsis? I read it twice while typing this and it clearly says this game is not only-PvE or only-PvP... it's both!
I REALLY SUGGEST READING THAT!
Yes... it does say competitive on several occasions, it also says this game is designed with PvP-people in mind, but it does NOT say that PvE-people wouldn't be allowed to like it.
If this game was designed to be completely PvP-game, there would not be any character levels, all the characters would be lvl 20, constantly and from the beginning. There would not be the world we PvE-people inhabit and adventure in but only Arenas, where people could fight, fight each other and fight Guild versus Guild.
And then, would this game have become any kind of a success? No! Those people who put their money into developing this game, really wanted to have us PvE-people to buy the game too.
And... why would the developers have put some great number of hours of work to make the characters look that good (see all the details of your armor/character) if they only had PvP in mind? Because they wanted to please us who spend hour after hour to perfect our character's outlook.
That's all for now

Please try and keep this on the topic of homes in Guild Wars, don't turn it into the millionth debate over whether the game is PvP or PvE oriented. It's both, and people will play whatever they want to play how they want to play it within the limitations of the game. ---If you can't accept it and wish to argue about it further---take it to PMs, we don't need another thread talking about that.

PieXags FTW
In any event (@ the OP), having a house would be kinda neat... except that I don't think I'd visit it much... though ActionJack's idea was pretty slick... spicing-up the "choose your character yada yada" screen would make the 3.4 seconds I spend choosing my character that much more enjoyable

Instanced homes in the guild hall or in towns perhaps? Around 7 different styles per hall/town and you walk up to one, click the "doorbell" and a list of players comes up, you can either type in part of a player's name or their full name to ring the doorbell, a window pops up on the player's screen and it says "soandso wishes to enter your house" and there are 3 options, "refuse entry", "allow entry" and "allow entry and go to home". You select one and it happens. You could also have an override password for friends to get in without you being annoyed by the window, they could type it in and get straight in, a key if you like.
