Selecting teammates on minimap.
The nice new observer mode has it...
Why not in PvP? [Story] I remember today in Comp Arena, I noticed on the minimap that one of my teammates was running away, I tried cycling through friendly targets to see if I could find and highlight the "dot-running-away-on-the-minimap" (I never EVER use the mouse to pick targets - no time). Anyway, when I finally got him highlighted he was out of range, and I couldnt remove that nasty hex he apparently thought he could run away from. I didn't use the party window because pretty much everyone were hexed and fairly low on health. Anyway, I might could have saved him if I had been able to select him on the minimap. (I was a mesmer btw.) [/Story] So... The code is already in the game, import it into PvP please. |

It could cause a problem if people are wanting to 'ping' the map, but I do like this feature in Observer, so I'd probably use it more than 'pinging'

simple thing to pinging, make it use a ctrl mask for the ping on minimaps

you can select people on the minimap while in Observer mode (for gvg/tombs) i don't see why this can't be implemented...
i just remembered... people draw and ping on the map :\ |

Yeah but if you're careful enough to click someone then it could be done. Or have a multi key control. Like ctrl+ mouseclick on a person (on the minimap) selects them.

I'd like it in pve aswell cos if ya had to go to the loo and your party ran off or something ya could find em easy on the map. Great idea

I'd say Shift+Click.
Most people lack the coordination needed to click carefully on a moving target, so the controlled click on the minimap won't work. Plus, if they miss, you're getting a ping. I'd be leery of using Control+Click, as well, simply because Control announces things, and...what if this feature behaves in a similar way to the targeting system when one has died? Control+Click and you announce you're "Targeting ______________!" Doesn't seem like a good idea. /signed for a Shift+Click |
