Idea- Universal Skill Pool
i'm relatively new to the forums, so forgive me if this has been suggested before. one of the few things about GW i dont like is having to buy mediorcre or situational skills ive already unlocked on another character. like many people, i created 3 PvE chars, using all 6 professions, to unlock the majority of the skills for my account. each char has pretty much everything for his/her primary and secondary. however, i tend to switch secondaries quite a bit to try out different ideas. farming exp for skill points gets annoying after a while.
that said, what i suggest is a universal skill pool (access to every skill your ACCOUNT has unlocked) after reaching a certain point in PvE. im not looking for an advantage, just something to reward high end characters. this "reward" could come after completion of hells precipice, finishing all the titan quests, or even after reaching a certain experience level (say 500k for example).
basically, what this means is: if my W/Me has unlocked elemental resistance, my R/E could change secondaries and have access to that, and all other non-elites the W/Me has unlocked AFTER reaching the "reward point." now the W/Me would NOT have access to the R/E skills unless/until he also has reached the reward point. elites should not be included even though it is annoying capping them multiple times- many of them are crap, but each character should have to work for them, or at least the ones they want, since they arent ever "given" to any character.
i dont think this would imbalance anything. certainly not PvE - after all, it cant help a character finish the game if the reward point only comes after game completion. as for PvP, basically all this does is allow my PvE ranger to compete as a R/Me should she choose without spending a dozen skill points buying mesmer skills. thats really not unfair since i could just create a PvP character and have access to all those skills anyway, right?
maybe im in the minority, and maybe most people dont experiment as much as i like to, but is anyone else out there runinng out of skill points buying skills like mending and smite hex for a character that finished the game as a N/W? i think this idea would promote creativity and enhance the level of diversion between character builds. what does everyone else think?
