Quick returning events.
Everyone loves events, though, having to wait a year till it comes back isn't that great, so I tought about a event that's every couple of weeks.
For example:
<Proffesion> day. A day for a certain proffesion to get quest only for that specific proffesion, items only for that specific question, people of that proffesion in every major city.
Male day. Free beer for every male character in every major city, fat drunken man all over the cities, females getting thrown at.
Female day. Hmmm.. Help me out on this one, I'm not a female.
Pet day. Free pet snacks, which gives your pet certain boost for a couple of minutes. Quest for people with a pet only, possibility to craft pet clothes, a pet that's only charmable on pet day.
Just some examples, but seems fun like me. I'm already waiting for the new event, and I'm even waiting for haloween already. But this way, we can have a smaller, but nice event every 2-3 weeks. Sounds great to me!

I think there should be more events to...although it seems to get really crazy when there is, for example when there was the 2 xmas quests EVERYONE was asking 'where is the coal, where is the socks, where is the pipe' and admitingly, i was asking to, but it was annoying. But maybe if there were more events this would cut down as well.
And i am a female myself...i think the females should get strawberry daquiris or margaritas and get to see hott guy characters dance naked LOL! I just get sick of seeing naked chick characters all the time...
But nice idea

well, best way to have <proffesion> day is to have a Feast or Festival of <deity>
like say...for necros, Feast of Grenth.
for that day, grab the same bunch of misery guts grenth carrolers ^^ and press them into service telling tales of Grenths mighty deeds in..um...Slayage
have anyone that has the necromancer job as *primary* get clothes, and those that have necro as *secondary* job get a hat..hats seem popular right now, so thats a good thing ^^
you have to listen to the storytellers tale and then answert a couple of questions for the items...saves everyone running about like headless chooks and asking for whareabouts of the items in quest ^^ (and makes you *LISTEN* to the damn NPCs for a change heheh)
so then, each profesion seconday gets a hat, each job primary gets an outfit.
Outfit is ether 3 parts *making you listen to 3 different tales by 3 different storytellers...have tale tellers in ascalon city, lions arch and drocknars forge*
or...it is one torso item that appears to cover torso, legs and feet in the costume. (to save space in inventry lol)
so....hats ^^ yay....necro hat would be (probably) a skull mask..maybe your head looks like a skull with glowing eyes
monk might be a shiney halo (similar to the one in fable that you had to be 100% good to see when he was standing still)
ranger....ether a wood themed mask or ivy leaves as a crown..or even a stag head, since the antlers are going down well (think a full stag head, like Hern the Hunter on robin of sherwood ^^)
elementalist....hm....a shiney crown of some sort? maybe wreathed in flames/ice/stone/whorles of wind?
mesmer....well they have masks all the time, but perhaps a true hat?
something cavaleier (musketeer like) or some middle-ages bard thing.
and fighters....they have helms all the time too, but hows about golden laurel leaves...like the roman emperors (they can do their gladiator show now ^^)
the Outfits would be themed to be a kinda party-time outfit, then you can wear them on special occasions, since your usually getting waisted in LA on whatever drink they are giving out ^^

Interesting idea! Come to think of it, who exactly do the Elementalists or the Mesmers believe in, anyway?
Anyhow, it seems that getting drunk and wearing party costumes are pretty popular, and I would love to do something like the events more often. I think it might even be better with some sort of player-player interaction (like the snowball arena, though it doesn't necessarily have to be PvP).

Isn't that a monthly event already?
Anyhow.. since I got warn by Pie from making a pointless one liner... I need to contribute...
How about Lyssa's Charm An Event there Chaos reign. In this time, all the exploration area monster will be all mix up, so you see Ice Imp in the Desert and Charrs in Isle of Fire. Also like in the Dragon's cave, the whole map will be randomly apply to a condition. And the sky will shine with random beautiful colors. For events, there will be Lyssa's Avatar appear randomly in the exploration map for you to find. Talk to it and you will get gifts and quests. (one of the quest could have you fight your mirror self again). Some event item could include Mirros (off hand energy item), Flowers (off hand), Pretty Fireworks, and... da da da... Wedding Dresses cloth set! (get all 5 for your female ladies) Say You like it!

Elementalists are associated with Glint, it is just not explicitly spelled out. In Ascalon City, there are six frescoes; Melandru, Balthazar, Lyssa, Dwayna, Grenth, and Glint. The color of each matches the colors of the skills of each class (Dwayna is blue, Melandru is light green..) Coincidentally, Glint is red.

well im hopeing that the elementalist god will turn up in Chap2
ooh, ages ago, i listed feast days and festivals for some of the deitys, back when someone sugested Saints days...(and someone else crapped on the idea cause it was real-world stuff...)
see, each Feast was a mini-event.
the main towns would be decked in color coded bunting. Priests of said deity would be wandering about, telling tales of their god/goddess that you had to listen to and answer questions about to get a freebee like the hat and outfit.
(and now that we have had the snowball fights^^ i would add snowball/sandball/tarball arenas to the main 3 towns *snow=droknars...sand=LA and tar=old burned ascalon* then we could have some more fun^^...stead of presents, change it to glowing tokens...same amount of HP/MP, similar skills ect. you could get a golden symbol for a win and a rosette for a loss, and swap them for stuff so even pvp could join in^^ )
stead of wintersday gifts with stuff in and themed items like that, just make a named ale (example....Melandru's Necter) and a edible item...(example....Dwayna's Cinnamon Kisses *cookie that looks like a pair of lips* heheh)
2 items to collect via the arenas, plus 2 items to get thru listening to NPC tellers and answering questions...and i would sugest adding at least one of the tale tellers in each main arena (but not in tombs ect, still have one in ToA)
thats just 4 items wich isnt too bad.
then there would be Festivals......these have more to them..each one would have a special map and town area....each would need you to go forth and wipe stuff out ^^ then collect parts they dropped and return them to the priest of <deity> to get stuff.
each Festival would be dedicated to one deity...like Festival of the Dead (grenth) *fight ghostly critters and collect their Spirit-Shards*
Festival of Illusion (Lyssa) *kill Illusiary monsters that shimmer to get shards of Lyssas Mirror of True-Sight*
Festival of Might (Balthazar) *defeat the Honurable Dead and receve a Badge of Victory to trade with a warrior-priest of balthy*
Festival of Return (Melandru) *stop the dark Wraith from destroying the Sacred Forest and help Melandru to grow this years crops/trees*
Festival of Memories (Dwayna) *protect the Spirit-Monk as he collects the names of this years forgotten dead, so they can rest in peace*
and...
Festival of the Elemental Forces (elementalists)
4 section map that means you have to first carry a bowl to one of each Element Fonts and collect a element. then return it to the main Elemental Temple to renew the years elemental energys...
you wouldnt *have* to do these maps, as there would be no real effect on the game, but it would be fun and you would get stuff ^^
i guess it would also maybe be possible to let pvp-only chars in as it *could* be the maps could be tagged as extra arena maps so as to alow them to play if they wanted...if not, then i guess just spend some faction on the priest of that holiday to get the item, but only for pvp-only chars in that way....(so no using your pve to fight then spend your faction heheh)
wedding dress^^ well, that would make a decent valentines day quest....collect certain things for making a bridal gown (or in the guys case, grooms robe hehe)
stuff like silks, special dyes *named Bridal dye* and ornamentation like fur trimming, tiny gems and gold/silver thread...
at the end of it, you get a wedding dress made up for girls (or guys that choose to quest for the dress in the name of their sweetheart *ahhh * hehe) or a grooms robe and then you can colect dropped mob items to trade for...
box of candy
Handfasting ring (our non-world version of a wedding /engagement ring)
Flowers (usually roses)
FrostBerry Wine (made from hard to gather berries in the Shiverpeak mountains)
guess we could have a temp arena for Lovers Day (then its not getting whined at for being valentines day lol)
sugest maybe a collect large red loveheart cards and give them to your side....winners get a red heart item, loosers get pink heart (well, dear, you tried, thats good enough heheh)
oh, and the elementals wold be able to collect 4 seperate hats, cause its give hats to *secondary* proffestions ^^
so elena, all you have to do is accend and then change your second job to elementalist, then pump all your points into the element you want the hat for and then go get it ^^
that way anyone can get the hat they want, just change second job for the day and then go get it
