Team Play and Tactics in Faction Warfare
With the brilliant news of GW:F and the new concept of faction warfare , i see a whole new possibility for tactics, (tactics over power obviously being Anets main goal in GWs developement)
I have two ideas here is the first:
1) Collaborative skills, that only reach their full potential when your allies cooperate with you.
Example: Link shields (skill)
0 energy, 2 seconds casting speed, 3 seconds recharge, Infinite duration
You link shields with at least 2 adjacent allies who have shields equipped while you have a shield, creating a wall of shields and granting those in the wall and those directly behind a 50% chance to block projectile attacks, but slowing movement by 50%.
This effect ends if you move away from your allies, or they move away from you.
2) Secondary conditions/ effects, that can only come into effect after something has been happening, uninterrupted for a certain duration. These do not and cannot be cast and are not skills.
Type 1- Cause of over conditions.
Example: Black smoke: If a certain creature has been on fire for 7 seconds or more, they start burning with black smoke, blinding and dazing all adjacent creatures including he who is on fire.
Type 2- Cause of other.
Example: Demoralizing volley: If a creature has been under fire from projectiles, with a projectile hitting them at least once /sec and are not wielding a shield, they get a penalty, lowering health and energy, magnified according to dmg given for x seconds also magnified as before. If creature does have a shield, no penalty is dealt but movement is slowed by x% also magnified according to dmg.
These are meant to improve team play and tactics since without a plan and cooperation they will not work or will be very hard to implement and with team play and good tactics will increase damage to the enemy. It should also keep players on their toes and make play less boring.
