Execute Henchies Button
I had the most interesting predicament happen earlier this weekend. On Saturday and earlier tonight...
On Saturday, I was doing some for a guildie died 2ndary Profession Quests in the Desert and was finsihing up the monk quest, when low and behold my Wammo died, horribly mauled by spiders. A moment later the Ranger whom I was helping came to tragic and abrupt end. Slowly but surely only Little Thom and Lina remained alive, adamantly holding out against a lone Jade bitey thingie (Spider). It was a long and ferocious battle... very long... infinitely long. The spider's skill load out kept it alive in the face of Thom's axe attacks. And Lina kept right spamming healing and protecting ol'Thom. After a couple of minutes when neither party nor critter had their health bar reduced below 50%, we decided to leave.
Earlier tonight, I was doing a mapping run out of ToA. I figured it was also good practice for running and I could think of a party little more incompetent that the Henchies. A tragic cat fight rang out in my house mid way through the Silverwood. I must have been at the spawn point of some centaurs for I came back to find Alesia spamming healing spells on Stefan and a Centaur Protector sustaining the lone warrior... alas everyone else was... well, dead. Figuring the battle wouldn't last long, I ran to kitchen and got myself a cookie (chocolate chip) and a glass of milk (skim). I was amazed to find the battle still ensued with no real progression. Stefan was down to about 97% percent health, about 3 pixel lines...
Not enjoying having to map out, since the res shrines were put out there for a reason, I was wondering if possibly a exterminate henchmen button could be implemented into the game, or if someone else has suggested it, I'll apologize and ask that this thread be moved or deleted. Thanks much!
So should there be a way to kill henchies after the human characters are dead?

can't you just map back to the start? You're only gonna end up there anyway

Mapping back to the start is fine, when you are on your first zone out from the town. No complaints from me there, but there are quite a few locations where you would have to map back 2 or 3 zones...

I actually quit the game for couple of months because of this, was soon after launch and I was making it towards the Henge of Denravi-mission (or the mission that leads to HoD, anyways) from Ventari's Refuge.
Got pretty close. Actually, I could see the gates to the outpost already when.. WHAM! Kazillion scarabs jump off the ground, slaughtering me and the henchies.. except the arcer henchie. Which was at Ventari's Refuge, stuck on a tree or something similar. Waited a while, archer just stood there. Grumbled. Only option seemed to be to map back to Ventari's, and kill the mobs all over again. /ragequit, made a report about it, asking if there was a way to kill a henchie by a command, or would it be possible to implement such. Reply was pretty straightforward no. D'oh. Didn't touch the game for couple of months after that

It would be quite a good stress reliever, too.
WHAM! Heh, that's what you get for not healing well enough!
But of course, there's room for corpse exploitation. There would have to be no henchie corpse (that was exploitable, at least).

That made me laugh. This is kinda like empire earth, where you can click on a character, press delete, and then they die. I agree this would be a good addition to the game.

I would love to see this implemented.
That way I would be able to use my "Hand of Doom" button to stike down Little Thom every time he decided to attack an enemy without me saying so or doing so. That little bastard would aggro 3 groups at a time and then run back to me..

Agreed. I believe it was fixed, but a while ago I had the problems of 2 henchmen getting stuck together away from enemies while everyone else is dead.

You have never seen the funniest henchman action, when you get killed and they are left and they RUN IN AND OUT OF aggro. Basically, they never get attacked and they just play hide and seek with the monsters.

If not for the usefulness of this suggestion, then for the Sith-like nature. Order 66 anyone?

I'd actually rather have some minimal control over henchmen. For instance, if I die and I Ctrl + click my life bar, Alesia should immediately revive me (or die trying). That should become her first priority and she should ignore everything else until it's done.
What I really hate about henchmen is when you're all dead and Alesia is the only one alive, but she'll go off and fight and will not revive human players. I also dislike it when she revives other henchmen first - it isn't logical and it can quite often mean the difference between a complete comeback versus the entire team having to begin again.
If they'd just add that feature, I'd have no real objections to henchmen (at least nothing too serious). Although an execution button might be useful in some situations.

My original idea was to provide for a way to just get back to res point in PvE... however, the idea of having this option for stress release is to say entertaining. Needless to say this option would have to be removed for PvP... The idea of an EoE suicide henchy team comes immediately to mind.

I've had this happen before. I watched Lina, Alesia and Thom take on a Stone Summit Ranger, Carver, and two Dolyak Masters for about a half hour. It was pretty amusing, if not boring. All the time I kept spamming "I'm dead!" hoping they'd res me.
I guess it's alright, but there could be problems with it. I'm stuck in the decision.

Only if you can force them onto their knees, then stand behind them with a wand against their neck and say a badass line first.
