Now, as far as I can tell, you don't get Fame for winning in Team/Random Arena's. Why?

I ask this because for the past few days (since I have started playing Gw again) I have been unable, I say again, completely unable, to get into a group in Heroes' Ascent. I play a Monk, or Mesmer, or Elementalist. I've been away from this game for long enough to not know what IWAY is, but I get the feeling it doesn't use Monks, Mesmers or Elementalists. I don't have a spare slot for PvP, because I want Roleplaying characters (and I'm really REALLY hoping for more slots with Factions. At least two, or I might not bother.).

I'm rambling - back to the point.

Now, as Heroes' Ascent is the only place I know of at the moment where you get Fame for winning, and I can't get a group, how in hell am I meant to get the Fame required to get to Rank 4+ whatever which is apparantly now required to get in any group in bloody PvP...All I see is 'IWAY R4+ looking for WR 7/8' or 'R3+ IWAY GLF WR SS MM'.

This is more of a selfish suggestion, as I'd like a go in Heroes' Ascent and get some Fame.

So, two suggestions:

1) Fame in Team/Random Arena's (After a set number of consecutive wins? Not after every win, but after 2 or 3)

2) More sodding character slots. Even if you gotta buy them. £10 for an extra character? Expensive, but right now, I'd jump at the chance.

I still say they need to just remove fame/faction all together. people just farm it now. its a useless number these days

Fame is a measure of Heroes Ascent experience so gaining fame/rank from RA or TA would be absurd. I dont like the current system, but its fair; just not very inviting for new players.

Ask yourself this. Are you trying to get into a HoH group because you enjoy PvP or do you just want a rank emote ? If all you want is an emote, join those IWAY teams and grind some fame.

I want to PvP. I've even gone as far as deleting my beloved Mesmer (and yes, she did have 15k armour. 2 bloody sets of it as well) for a PvP character now. Finally got a group! Couldn't get past the NPC bit...but it's a start I suppose.

Other than Rank, they've no real excuse to not invite...I've got all the required skills and I know what to do with them, but oh no, if you can't show 'em the Stag by the storage, it doesn't matter - you could be Gods gift to this game and they wouldn't care if you don't have an emote.

Though, removing the emotes and fame altogether isn't such a bad idea...Nothing to play for as such, but at least the newbies to PvP would have a chance at it.

gods gift? then you must be able to gained any rank so far yet i suppose

get a good guild, copy a build, and try! use voice comms ( even iway starts to use voice comms now )

a team without voip = dead team

Or make you lose fame when you lose in these matches... make fame more of a win/loss ratio than a measure of how long you've been playing. The number of battles would still have to factor in, because a perfect winning record means a lot more if you've played in 100 battles than if you've played in 1, but I'm in complete agreement that the current rank system means very little.
