Default Mend Condition versus Mend Ailment=dead monks

Ok. Mend Ailment was a nuke. With all the conditions running around in PvP, having 3 on 1 person, was potentially a 300HP heal or more. And it was frequent to see from this monks chair. Thats not fair. But a straight out nerf with nothing to balance it is not a good way to go. CoP was always a cast as can spell, but its also (for boon users) a 10 mana spell in disguise with at least 2 chances to interupt something during the 2+ seconds it takes to cast and re-buffing (thats a long time for you non-healers out there). Unless Anet is trying to nerf boon prot and spam prot builds, this needs further balancing.

That will leave many of us with mend condition, the red headed step-child of mend condition and CoP. It can't reach the nuke heal status mend ailment can because it only heals for the condition it removes...but it also can't target the castor.

I'd like to see the later restriction removed, allowing mend condition to finally target castors (thus making it a skill that will find its way onto my skillbar instead of gathering dust). It still makes for a powerful 7 mana boon heal, but its not a game breaker against condition users. Since monks are the ones getting conditions most of the time, we're the ones who need that heal. And I'm sure everyone has done the numbers; most boon prot monks won't be getting the 70+HP heal out of it anyway, cutting attribute points out of Protection prayers to put into energy managment skills. This can even be further suplimented by reducing the ammount of health Mend Condition heals for, further balancing damage to regen capability between divine favor and boon prot.

Thats fair and balanced.

In arenas i always took mend condition to heal party members and mend ailment on myself. Mend ailment on 1 condition was pretty poor heal imo.

Mend condition change to target ally would make it way overpowered

I would suggest have the other monk bring mend condition.(assuming you are talking about an 8v8 area) And if they arent prot, dont have them put any in prot. You will get the divine favor heal+condition removal. After all you are part of a team.
