/signed. There needs to be more ways to acquire wealth. Witht eh drop nerfs, its harder and harder for people to get money for the things they want. If you don't farm, its nigh-impossible (at least, thats what I get in here). If people don't like farming, they shouldn't be penalized for it anymore than people who like farming should be flamed and ridiculed.
Good idea.

I completely agree. I was thinking about suggesting the addition of a kind of Colloseum pit where monsters would come in at increasingly higher levels and the more your team can end up conquering, the more money they'd get out of it. Then put a limit as to how many times you can do it, and put in some tough monsters in there.

limiting the usage would defeat the pourpose, the whole point of the colloseum or any gold quest is to do it as many times as you want.

I'd like some kinda "Collect Spores for the Herbalist" repeatable and you get a modest amount for each spore, roughly around 100g each so you'd wind up getting about 2k in around 15-20 minutes. It'd be for people who don't know how to do farming builds, don't like running as a W/Mo or W/R, Or just want a modest income. I'd also like to see some kinda "Please rescue my daughter, I'll pay you a handsome reward.. blah blah" Handsome reward as in 7-10k.

Maybe simply adding in quests that don't have little markers where the next stop is, but simply just descriptions or general areas. Here's an example:
A scale was chasing my brother and I the other day and we barely escaped with our lives. Luckily, the scales were attracted to the silver reflection on my necklace and I tossed it to lure them away. It was a family heirloom and if you could find and slay the scale who took it and bring it back, I'd reward you.

It's not like you get nothing as it is... Some of the quests DO give gold!
Hahahah, I couldn't keep a straight face that long. 30 gold my ass. What kind of reward is that?

What about bots? If a quest needs a full balanced party I can't see how a bot could do it - eg. can a bot do all the forgemaster quests in the FoW or Reaper quests in the UW? no they can't, so these sort's of quests should give a decent reward for doing them.

I don't farm. I tried for about two weeks on my warrior during the summer, roughly 3 hours a day. Got bored out of my mind. Too repetitive, nobody to talk to.
I only quest in FoW,Sorrow's furnance, Tombs. Occasionally UW if there are actually nonsolo people.
I definitely vouch for this.
EDIT: for why this applies.

This is basically communism (not that its bad)..
but, if everyone was rich, there would be a negative effect on the gw economy...think black dye for 60k, crystalines for 2mil..which would make the game less appealing to newer people

What gives you this idea? It's simply an alternative way of making gold, just like how other MMORPGs havemining/farming/crafting etc.

If a quest gives something substantial it should either be a one-time quest only, or very very difficult.
And if that is the case then I'm /signing this. I love what they've done with Tombs. You can only get greens if you make it all the way to the end of a pretty tough, and long PvE mission. You must be worthy to be rewarded. This harkens back to the days when RPGs did not have slot-machine rewards and you felt rewarded for your efforts.
I am definately in favor of actually gaining things from quests. Quests used to be fairly rewarding in Ascalon when you actually got your skills from those quests. The only reason to do a quest in high level PvE is for the random drops you get as you work your way through it. But random drops are so... well... random. Sometimes you barely get any reward at all while your team mate gets lucky.

I agree completely. Finishing difficult quests ought to be more profitable than killing random monsters. It isn't like some XP towards a skill point is much of a reward. Very few PVE'ers are starving for skill points, I think.
They could have diminishing returns so that doing the same quest over and over again becomes less profitable, just as killing the same monster over and over again gives worse drops.

In addition, I think that PVE Missions should provide 1 Platinum for completing the Mission and 1 Platinum for completing the Bonus. The current rewards of 1 skill point + 1000 experience are nice but you actually need to go farming in order to use that 1 skill point. If Anet is serious about nerfing farming -- why else would they add all of these scarabs at Prophet's Path? -- then they should simply make it a little easier for players to get Gold and buy skills.

I don't think that's a good reason. If we are worried about bots then we should stop all random drops from all mobs...
If Anet starts giving Gold as a reward for Mission and Bonus objectives that would alleviate some of the issues and be pretty much bot-proof, don't you think?

there was another post about GOLD ( wheres my gold ) Faction points for gold!
why not do the same thing with skill points
for my warrior I got all but 3-4 skills and 50 skill points...what am i gonna use it for????? why not convert skill points for GOLD....1 skill point = 2-3 plat
or make a new NPS Swartz and Co. Merchant....that will exchange ur skill points for gold, ur faction points, maybe even fame? or even buy cap sigs for 750 gold ( i got like 15 of them, and no use )
