lol that made me laugh
its just that i think valkyra is just used to the line between meaningful names and "lazy names" being a little bit different.

dieing commands
this is really small but i think for an optional choice whenever u die ur char could create a messsage that u could write in like if u die ur char would say '' arg i died'' or somthing funny or serious or whatever or u could just write nothing in the thing and ur char wont make a weird command just a funny lil though...
Also i think there should still be some more fun lil interactions between items and stuff. that have no significance but are just fun like in fable, where u could do dumb stuff but it just makes the game more fun(what mainly in my friends opinoin made fable good)

Great game going only a few suggestions:
1) When you lag out (happens to me a lot, Internet problem, not game) you should still be in the group when you get back in, so you wont lose ALL your progress, that gets really annoying.
2) More direction on which quests you need to do to get to Lion's Arch, I still don't know where to go. Maybe if quests say if they were required or not?
3) Option for GvG with more than 8, but without letting one guild have more than the other.
That's pretty much all of it, I may add more later when I think of them.
Added:
4) Option for a guild vs Guild match that won't affect guild standings
5) Skirmishes with chosen teams vs chosen teams so you can have tournaments, which would help with guilds who let people climb ranks in them by their battle prowess, and let friends see who really is the better fighter.

i hear that your 1) suggestion may not be possible due to security reason.
once you are disconnected...you can not get back on the game with same team you had prior to disconnection.
not sure if this is true (i just heard)...so dont quote me on this

This forum is crazy...
Back to the name thing, I can almost guarantee that some more limits will be set by the time of the release. I'm sure there have been billions (well, maybe thousands...) of filter/block/limit/anti-'insert what you hate here' and many others, and we have already heard Gaile say that it's high on the list of priorities.
A huge kudos already to the limits they have set in (more than one word, spacing, capitalization, no numbers or punctuation etc.) and it makes a huge difference in the feel of the game. I must admit though, that when GaNgStA WaNgStA walks past Prince Rurik it brings you out of the game. Names like these would be impossible to filter without ruining non-offensive names, and many people could care less. I think the only thing you can do is avoid the person, which I'm sure they won't care much anyways.
Anyways, I don't think we need to suggest anything name-wise, as I'm sure they will have their own battles (legal and otherwise) to fight. I'm also sure that there will be improvements, and that we will all have to accept what comes.
ok, this IS a suggestion board (that doesn't seem to be read by anyone of any importance anymore, but meh) so I've got a suggestion relating to the current theme (and I know I'm about to contradict what I just said...)
Give us the ability to mask names or words that other people use (in their name, chat, or other text). Either dis-allow them, filter them, change them, or give us the option to change them. I have to agree going into battle with Yurr Momma ruins the experience.

so you mean like a thing where if you see Yurr Momma, you can change how their name is portrayed on your screen?
and also
there is one good thing about the name problem that might actually be a good thing
knowing who to pick
if you see a guy named Eye Lick Bawlz, you prolly dont want him..... or her on your team
not really a stereotype but an overall deduction of how you would expect that person to behave like.
if i see Drago The Mighty walk by a second latyer, my chances of picking him..... or her are much higher
i think i stated that clear enough

As for the bad names, probably one of the best things to keep them from ruining the experience is to have an option to not show names at all over the avatars, so then you wont even know that the guy's name is Ihaxxor Joo or Salty Chocolate Balls (hehe thats from south park ) or even Gaylord Foker.

Just as a note to you guys, this is all read personally by Gaile Gray of Arenanet, which would be somebody of very high importance, so your suggestions do matter because they are taken in to consideration.
Oh, and Agent. Why don't you start a new thread to debate the whole name issue. I did it before about gore being implemented in the game. This seems to be a heated enough debate to get a new thread on it.

I don't think we can all express how thankful we are for the oppourtunies both Gaile and all the people behind Guild Wars have given us. It's good to know our suggestions are at least being taken in account.

There shoud be certain trading districts in addition to the regular ones, and a trade chat that is used by all of the trading districts, so that you dont need to "hop around" the districts to find someone who wants to buy from/sell to/trade with you.

although i dont like seeing trade conversations in my chat....
i gotta dis agree about the trading thing.
its like asking for tv with no commercials
and saying commercials could be on a separate channel or something
people would only look on it if they NEED something and it might be hard to find
and from the loss of buyers, sellers would give up
and less things would be up for grabs and it would be terribly hard to buy things you need
however if it stayed the same, people will read along and think, " hmmm i could use one of those"
and, "i might need that later".
buyers would be able to find what they need and sellers could sell more
i do think there should be a "group chat"
so you can invite more than one person for a personal chat.

As much as I love your name because I loved Zim while it was on, I'm going to comment that TV only has commercials in order to fund themselves, it's the way they're making the money. The chat box has nothing to benefit from this. I think that a trade district would be good because if people are willing to sell that item you want and you say WTB...um...crappy bow, then the can find that guy who has the crappiest bow around can go and trade it to that person looking for the crappy bow. If anything, I think it will make it easier.

what i meant was that alot of times when people buy things, they weren't expecting to
they see an oppening and take it
how can they do so if they must go to a different dist
ya they might buy it sooner or later but they might not
and to me its an equal standing
i really dont know which i would prefer
but i personally dont mind all the trade chatter
i dont like it but i dont really dislike it

This is very true. I got two very nice staves on my first beta when I wouldn't have gotten otherwise. (especially since he said he was selling one, but ended up giving me both) I don't know, probably the best thing is just a was to filter out the trading if you want to. The filter could eliminate all the ones that start with WTS ect. this would greatly eliminate the amount of trade offers in the chat window (also if they removed most of the emotes from the chat. One of the few I can understand popping up is the clapping emote because your character would be able to hear that and there are no sound effects for that). Yes, I think a filter that you could toggle would be the best thing.

ya but knowing how immature people can get, you realize that they will simply stop saying WTS and say who wants or staff for sale etc.
there is simply no way to terminate this issue that i can think of

Oh, of course not! There will always be those who will do things different, but I think it would cut down a lot. Anyway, I don't see any reason why they'd want to get around the filter if everyone who wants to buy will keep their filter off in order to find a what they wanted. If it were implemented, I'm don't think I'd use it unless I ran into some people talking, RPing, or searching for a party and I wanted to say something and see the response without all the clutter.
Speaking of which, this suggestion is not to Arenanet, but to players; let's get more RP chat going on. I'd like to play a role as my character and talk amoungst other ones, I think that would be fun.

ok so its settled
just add an OPTION
and since this is the suggestions thread, i need to get somethin off my back...
one of my favorites aspects of starcraft was the cutscenes
GW NEEDS CUT SCENES IMO
i would advise that they be at least of good cinematic quality as sc (Starcraft Had Great Feeling of Cinema)
and of the same look and suspense as lineage 2 scenes
where everything was gloomy and fantasy like and the color scheme and the way that guy was about to hit that dark elf lady when the other guy stopped him.
the scenes would portray parts of the main story and such
maybe some battles for the entertainment of fans
and if it becomes a space issue, then stream it so it looks like sc cinematics
they were detailed yet very.... hmmm hard to explain
but i love seeing cgi from games and i realized that you already have VERY detailed models
so maybe as a side project?
just a suggestion

I think cutscenes would be a great idea.Prob with it now is that you cant enjoy the cutscenes cause party members just want to skip ahead.I missed out on almost all of the cutscenes cause of that.I didn't want to hold the party up when 3 out of 4 skip the scenes.Maybe skip shouldn't be an option as long as the scenes are not too long
