Getting your money back out of 15k armor...
Well first off I'll start by saying how much I love this game. I was so excited when I finally saved up enough money to buy a set of 15k armor for my warrior. At the time, I didn't understand all of the different bonuses there were on each set of armor...this led me to buy a full set of 15k Ascelon armor because I like how it looked. While it is one of the coolest looking sets in the game, I now know what "non-stacking" means. It means that no one will have me in their party because I'm "a n00b" for not buying Gladiators. I now have a full set of worthless armor that cost me 75k. I will probably never be able to earn that much money again. What I propose, is that 15k armor crafters could accept peices of other 15k armor insted of the 15k in gold. Here is an example. I am now enlightened to the worthlessness of my 15k Ascelon. So I decide to trade it in. I take it to the 15k armor crafter. I trade my 15k Ascelon Boots + the materials needed and recieve 15k Gladiators Boots. It would cover the cost...
I hope something can be done so that I can get my money back from the 15k Ascelon...

I don't think the exchange rate should be THAT high, but maybe 5k for a 15k armor wouldn't be too bad.

The point of the 15k armor set is to act as a gold sink, to give players that enjoy grinding away something to work towards while playing. Giving money back to the player = anti-money sink.
Here's my problem with this idea. It's as if someone walked into Saks or Barneys and bought four/five different pieces (shoes! a hat, gloves, et cetera) to construct one entire outfit and wanting to return the shoes or cashmere-lined gloves or whatever that suddenly goes out of style after a few weeks of wear-and-tear. Would Saks let that person return the item? No. Would Barneys let the person obtain "store credit" to buy a different pair of shoes or gloves? No. (Of course, this analogy fails to hold up because you can't test to see how the armor set will look on your character before wasting virtual money on it...)
Armor should not matter when getting a group. You're happy with how it looks, that's what counts. If a group has issues with the choice you made, look for a group that isn't full of sheep ("zOGM gladiator's tAOTlly FOR TEH WINAR, u iZ teh nubzor 4 using ascalon!!!111") or use the henchmen instead.

It would actually make sense if the armor trader at least would pay you the merchant trade-in value for the crafting materials that you used to make the armor in the first place.

Too bad that the looks of the armor aren't one thing and it's bonuses/abilites are a mod you can add on. For instance if you like the look of knights but prefer the bonus of gald, you buy the knight's armor than equip it with the glad mods (one for each piece).

I'd say 7.5k per each piece of 15k armor. 10k if its dyed black.
This is with the 50% rule.

Umm, not funny and ridiculously immature.
I think a simple buff to the underappreciated armors will fix it, if only Anet realizes this.

I'd be inclined to keep the armour until at least Factions comes out. In one of the numerous threads about upcoming changes there was mention of fixing something that is currently global but not meant to be. As to whether this means fixing the Gladiators and Knight/Ascalon boot armour combo, who knows, but with a new Chapter on the way and possible numerous changes it might be best to wait and see.
If you need money try farming for greens over at Sorrows Furnace. The green market may not be what it was but if you get a decent item it'll be more than what you could get doing other things.

That was completely unnecessary and was just a way for you to brag that you had more money than the OP.

That would take the point away from other people getting it. It's about aesthetics and the fact that you have it makes you more distinct. If ANet used your idea, every PvP character would have FoW armor and nobody would choose Droknar's. There is a reason it is expensive is that distinctness comes with a price.

I dissagree, if you are a big enough sucker to buy 15K you should at least do your research.

So you would be saying that everyone has FoW armor to begin with, he means unlocking by buying with money from the PvE world.

I don't think they should give us any money back for armor, especially 15k armor. If you want to be competitive, you can buy any Droks armor or get any collector's weapon for a minimal cost.
If you want to look funky, then save up for another set of 15K, it's not impossible to earn that kinda cash (one way is to try the old Orozar SF runs and sell the greens you get).
15K armor is there to be earned, not easily obtained.

Anet has stated already they have no intentions of altering (or as we call it "fixing") the non-stacking bonus of ascalon/knights armor. These bonus were not meant to stack, it promotes players to mix and match armors. The gladiator clones didn't arise because they look good, but just because the glad mix yield a better overall armor attribute. "Fixing" the stacking will only eliminate the gladiators, but not the cloning... wammos will just find another better mix and clone that.
