Seem Fair? This is an argument FOR Weapon mod Trader. "it will upset the economy" i hear u shout..well maybe, i reply. but the title of my thread says it all. I f nobody has the item i want for sale then i cant have it! Ever.End. As much as i love Guild Wars (and i mean real love, Give up my first born to play all day with nothing else to distract me love) the system of mods does suck. Now i know that they give enough drops of each item to allow a healthy competition of prices for EVERY type of weapon mod but my solution is simple, Force the players to compete with the Trader. Just like the Runes.

i mean, we have a rune trader yet people still sell/ buy runes from other players..so why not mods?

i know its a petty request, but is it really that unreasonable? Maybe im short sighted in my vision where i can buy what ever i want....Craft my perfect weapon how ever i like and not depending on whether some one has the item i need for sale, if i wake up at 3 in the morn and want a +1axe mastery 20% mod and i am willing to pay Top Buck GIVE ME THE OPPERTUNITY, Mod Trader ftw! Please state reasons Against this, so i might better understand.

Players sell me wood - Anet(trader) sells me Wood. Players sell me Ectos - Anet sells me Ectos - Players sell me Sup Absorp - Anet sells me Sup absorp. Nothing wrong with the Market there nice and Competitive trader sells ectos for 8k, players sell for 7.5, great. Trader Sells 10/10 sundering bowstring for 30k, Players sell for 25-anything under 30k - Whole economy crashes everyone gets rich/poor and leaves guild wars for ever leaving Anet dead!?? Seem Drastic to you? Put it this way...

Ebon hammer upgrade, any hammer with ebon on it is sold to mechant, no one keeps them ever (dont say u do , cos u know u dont u filthy liar) if they were..lets say..2k from mod trader. In the time it takes for me to Spam "wtb ebon hammer upgrade, whisper me pls" in every town and every districts 100 times, i could have killed enough baddies to go get one from the mod trader, CATCH MY DRIFT? Weapons mod trader would be a good idea. I think anyhow. I know it's hard to find the less common mods I know people sell to trader, and it's easy to find say, a sword pommel of foritude, but hard to find someone selling it for a price anywhere near the price guide list. Keeping a mod trader around would certainly put a cap on that market and force players to compete with the trader for business their way. I mean really, do you actually NEED 100k for a sword pommel?

The Dev's are looking in to the maybe puting in an auction house system which will help things greatly, get things "out there" and stablize prices and give everyone the ability to really know what value an item has.

I think a mod trader would be great. I don't wanna stand around LA spamming WTB fire string all day just to have some bot farmer whisper me "i sell 50k ok?".

/signed. If it's just "another way" for players to trade ammoung themselves, then why not make that way easier for weapons mods? At the moment, weapons mods are the end all of the uber rich or the get rich quick folks. That's not helpful to a stable economy when a handful of elite farmers (*ducks head with a touch of guilt*) can control one aspect of quick item acquistion. Monopoly is not healthy. Traders--competition!--with people asking rediculiously high prices would be a stabilizing force, not a disruptive one.

I thought this AND a green weapon trader would be great additions. Its off-topic, but the green weapon trader would stop the 'lack of interest' effect on green weps. Basically, less people are farming SF and tombs because the items are worth less. But if less people are farming them, theyre less common, and should be worth more! For example if ragos flame staff jumped up to 100k one day, a surge of people would go FA farming and bring it back down, and this would lead to a more 'stable' economy - exactly what Anet want.
