maybe so, but didn't they promise toy story (the film) graphics for ps2? where did that go? and when peolpe complained about the design for the ps1 controller sony was like "damn you, you play on our console you use our controlls, we're not changning anything" when people complained about the design on the xbox duke controlls they design the s-controller allmost directly. What about those sony cds that had that strange program that was installed deep into windows to prevent piracy, it was counted as a spyware or virus, don't think that microsoft wanted that. God knows what that program could do else than prevent cd copying, they were out on very thin ice there. yes, I sound like an anti-sony person, but I'm only going after the "you have to see the bad in the good and the good in the bad to know what to buy" theory

Yeah, yeah, I know the order of release, I'm just saying. I can't stand the controller, personally. For some reason I recall FFXI-PS2 as being very "meh" in comparison to the PC version.

I've seen the PS3 demo and I don't think Guild Wars would be made for PS2 before being made as a PS3 game, because the PS3 graphics looked out fo this world. The Indy racing and the first person shooter...I mean they made Guild Wars curscenes look like a joke in comparison.

Unless they gave Guild Wars better visuals on the PS3 version, then again Squaresoft was alreayd making video games with Sony, thus they could go the PC/PS2 route, as far as I know Anet and Sony are completely unrelated.

O how i'd love guild wars to come out on mac.Then i'd be able to play it on my super powerfull mac laptop.It's like 3x as powerfull as my gaming pc

A little advice.If your a gamer, I wouldn't suggest getting a mac.

Intel Mac + Windows XP = win...as soon as someone figures out how to get working drivers for the x1600s in the MacBooks and iMacs, I mean.

If they don't play with PC users I couldn't care less, but if they join the same servers, I don't want it. Maybe it's an unfair presumption but I have this nagging feeling there's going to be even more w/mo's and a whole lot of assassins out there, and possibly a lot of impatient children.

Don't argue me about how it's not like this or whatnot, it's a feeling I have. It's not facts.

There was a big debate in RA d2 the other day over Consoles vs PCs and we came to the conclusion that consoles will never be as good as pcs. Besides, can your console run notepad, while running GW? Yeah, didn't think so.

Actually, second thoughts, lets not turn this into a PC vs console thing. Some games work better on PC, some are better on console right? I cant stand sore PC users who only word against Consoles is 'PC will always be better' The fact of the matter is evidence shows otherwise. Yes Consoles cant be upgraded as such, yes they havent really had HD up till now, yes they cant run 2 tasks at once, but is the power gap narrowing? Are they becoming a better platform to play games on? Are they signifcantly cheaper than PCs?

I would say yes to all of them. PS3 will be more powerful than the MAJORITY of PCs out at the same time, and will be significantly cheaper than the sum of its parts. Consoles make a loss on the Hardware, gain on Games. Dont see PCs doing that. On that PC cant compete. In addition Consoles dont have combatibility problems.

With the emergence of internet connectivity i would hope that ANET made a game tailored to the PS3. Maybe not the same GW, but a similar project. Alas, i dont see it happening to be honest.

All in all i would say that evidence that says PCs will never be taken over goes on the fact that it hasnt happened yet. I would say that consoles are the predominant force as far as gaming goes. Need proof? Ask Microsoft why they got into the console business.

For now i am happy with GW on the PC, even if my PC isnt worthy of it, tbh. If GW comes out on the PS3, i will jump for it, and then pretty much say goodbye to the PC as far as playing games goes.

One final point. The trend is that all items are being geared up for multitasking. All companies are doing at as much as possible. Phones that play music, send videos, play games (not all succesfully note) PSP has a web browser. In addition consoles are being targetted at peoples living rooms, not like which PCs which seem content to sit in the bedroom/office. How long before consoles do everything that other things did. PS2 was a dvd player (admitedly not very good at it) and a games player. XBOX added XBOX live, PS3 goes further with respectable HD, internet access and Blu Ray player. How long before web browsers, wireless connectvity with printers, music, TV tuners (which are more important in UK thanks to the death of analouge TV) all these things. How long before Consoles do the living room job, and PCs are relegated to sitting in some musty office?

This is off-topic, so best not answer it, just a thought though. And please dont accuse me of being a Console Fan-boy, since having this new (but still outdated PC) i have seen little of my Console.
