Instead of proposing to return to pre-searing, I rather have my character play a role in re-building ascalon to how it was before or better (example: the farmer you helped out for monk quest in post-searing, about some seeds that the farmer want to grow; when the players return, they can play more deeply into such story).
If map can shape shift according to what quest you have done to restore ascalon... too awesome. (kind of like different mob spawn outside for quest, except terrain wise)

Maybe something like this is nice after all, though, I don't really want people to go back to the real Pre-Searing, but maybe an UW version of Pre-Searing. You offer Dwayna 1K, and she'll bring you back to Pre-Searing to learn more about how the searing began (and for some reason you can't change the current timeline in Guild Wars ), but you don't really go back to Pre-Searing where all the starting players are. You can do some quests there (stop the Charr from entering at point <name of the place>), kill monsters (Charr, probably) and go in evey place that was originally in Pre-Searing (inclduding Catacombs etc.).
/signed, when it's just something else then the normal Pre-Searing (more something like UW).
/notsigned, if you go to the normal Pre-Searing.

No, not in favor. Pre-searing now is a friendly and peaceful place, and it's friendly and peaceful because the overly competitive don't hang around. I don't want pre-searing overrun by dye-farming invincimonks and wamos. Letting jaded farmers go back there with their maxed out chars would totally wreck the place.

you failed to see the points Numa
People would NOT be able to interact/farm in the actual Pre Searing. You would be more of an observer with your own quest no one else could join. This way, you can sell uber items, you can't help ppl power level killing charr. You can't farm for dye drops.
You need to re-read the OP's first post.

Excellent idea, most definitely since it is not the exact pre-searing. I wouldn't want to see lvl 20s running around spoiling the storyline and stuff, either.

I like Maxie's Dwayna idea, especially. Since I have pondered what kind of realm Dwayna could have, she isn't as fierce and battle-hardened as Balthazar or as unholy as Grenth.

I still wanna make a time machine and go back and officially stop the searing lol. I mean they make it possible to do yet it "doesn't" do anything.

Hockster, I believe it is impossible to achieve level 20 in pre searing. Eventually you get 0xp from the monsters and further progression is no longer possible. I believe the max level is 14 or 15.

Its a cool idea and id love to see the map again, but I agree with others who have said its not RPish and flashback is a little weak as a story standpoint.
Id love it though, if there was a completely new area (possibly in Factions) that was built in the image of old Ascalon. Imagine a stumbling wearily through a dark twisted forest or across a desert and coming across Pre Ascalon that had been rebuilt by a bunch of townsfolk that fled during the searing.
Anyway, /signed to see Pre Asc Maps again in a creative way that isnt about farmers making money.

There had been a few lv20 in pre-searing already... there should be some screen shot floating around somewhere.
What they did was letting the charrs kill them to lv up the char, then kill them for more exp. Tedious? Yea, they themselves would admit they are nuts.

Yeah, a new Ascalon area, THAT I'd sign. Not a return to the presently existing one.
