I have heard, but it is unconfirmed, that if you are really unhappy with your name you can appeal to Anet to change it. Personally I'm somewhat dubious about this. As far as I know Anet is not happy about name changing at all, and with all the potential for abuse I can see why.

BTW I have heard that the way the "names" work is that the first character name you have is the one which is identified with your account and thus reserved for you forever. All others are freed up after an hour. I've no idea how this relates to friends and ignore lists.

i think gaile today said you can change the name only if it get reported

if you give me 100k i will be very displeased of your name and i will report it immediantly

I would like to know wich is the spelling problem of your character's name; just because curiosity, as I know some Japanese.

The problem I have with Japanese and Chinese names is that, think GW has implemented Japanese and Chinese writing for the chat channels, these writings are allowed in the International District only and an American player, or an European, may not use Japanese and Chinese characters for characters' names.

Think I need them for two of my characters, because, without those Japanese and Chinese characters, their names look fake names.
