What would be the point of that? If you really want to remove a rune for some reason you could just put a minor vigor over it

EDIT: I see now... you mean remove without destroying the armor.

I'd just replace the rune with a minor of the same stats. Unless having bonus attributes somehow hurts your character (I dont see how )

Yeah, remember that you can add another rune to the same piece of armor. The old one disappears and you get the effects of the new one, so it's all good.

i have like three sets of identical armor on each of my characters just so i could switch around runes
this is why i could never afford 15k armor (or more like too cheap to lay down the money for it)

Wow, I thought I was bad with 4 masks for my ranger. I kind of like the way the runes work now. If I want the rune changed - throw the new one over the old, if I want the rune to keep - Superior Salvage (keep fingers crossed).

Buy one set of armour. For example: Necro
Chest Scar Pattern
Arm Scar Pattern
Leg Scar Pattern
Foot Scar Pattern
Use any minor runes on these clean armour pieces and a Major/Superior vigor.
I would then buy the 4 facial scar designs and apply a superior rune that matches them. e.g. Cruel Scar Pattern of Superior Blood Magic, Vile Scar Pattern of Superior Death Magic. Whenever I do MM, i use the vile scar pattern and for blood magic i use the cruel scar pattern.
This is my personal choice but it seems more economical than buying three/four separate armour sets

That is one way of doing it, but some like to have more than one superior on at a time.

It would be *kinda* nice if there was a way to remove the rune while keeping the armor and the rune. Since adding a lower rune completely destroys the rune but keeps the armor, that doesn't work. Expert Salvage kit would destroy the armor and keep the rune, thus; also not working.
Price would have to vary depending on the price of the rune attached to the armor, of course...it might be something ANet should do, but don't count on it...

Yeah, my necro has a pair of Blood Stained Boots of Superior Soul Reaping for controlled farming. I suppose, to be cost efficient, you'd need to buy extra pieces of armour for dual-superiors

The whole mask method is great for most of the classes, but if you play a mesmer you tend to have a problem, namely you need to have different armor for different builds, but you need to invest your points in 3 or maybe all 4 attributes. This is where runes get complicated.
Fortunately mesmer superior runes are fairly cheap, since people don't seem to understand the AWESOME POWER that mesmers have in PvE.
