FoW / Underworld... not related to PvP
Ok, I've come up with an idea to make FoW and Underworld completely unrelated from PvP.
There has been a lot of debate recently as to why they are linked when perhaps they shouldn't be. So, let's seperate them.
I was thinking that perhaps they could become an end-game "reward" for PvE players. Once you've beaten the missions, and finished off the Titan quests, you unlock FoW and Underworld. You'd still have to pay to go there though.
So this gives you something to do at the end of the game and it doesn't take the excitement from it.
Now we have to give something to the PvPers for winning a Battle in Hall of Heroes (I have no idea what coz I dont play PvP that much, so I'll leave it up to you )
It was just an idea...

This has been suggested too much. It's ok that you put a good hard requirement on it though...
MAYBE, if you can unlock it 24/7 for the people that done all the quests ,but still do a global unlock when your continent has favor...that would be better.
But I'm against moving PvE further away from PvP...it's the way A.Net designed the game! ( Also a good reason to let the Americans play holding builds again )

Ditto. Separating the two is not a good idea right now. Perhaps when more connections develop after the release of Factions and later chapters... but I'm against moving PvE further from PvP as well.

I agree with GentleBreezes.
Let PvP have their own rewards for winning in the HoH.
Let PvE earn their own way into the UW/FoW.
The link between PvE/PvP will be strong enough in Factions.

No offense but..even if there is a new reward given out to pvpers to replace FOW/UW, new threads similar to this and many others will be made

this has been suggested/discussed too many times...Even in factions pve is directly related to pvp....12v12 faction farming for Jadite/amber to craft armor... It's not going to change

Not a bad idea, but as has already been posted this topic has been beaten to death several times over. I think by now A-net realizes that a great many people have issues with the favor system. Right now its probably best to see exactly how factions is going to work. If it continues in the same light as favor where PVP play controls access to PVE areas then this whole topic is going to be dragged back out and debated all over again.
Lets just wait and see what factions has in store for us. Even though I am vehemently opposed to the favor system I am willing to give Anet the benefit of the doubt and see what they worked out in Factions.

Leave it as it be, I bet if this did happen, Gold and FOW armor will be everywhere, farming, and all chats will be spammed by x30 people per district looking for buyers.

Yeah...see...like...that's the thing. It looks like the PvP-PvE linkage in Factions is going to be a lot more RELEVANT. That's the key word.
In Prophesies the favor system is a "you're the best, or you're wasting your time" kind of control over UW/FoW. You need to be a PvP God to have any kind of real control over the favor. A new-to-PvP player has virtually a 0% chance of seeing HoH let along winning or holding it. I'm not r3 yet (though I am busting my ass to get it slowly but surely) and I've only been to HoH twice and I've never won it, and I'm far off from holding it. Maybe once I get my IWAY badge, I mean...r3...then maybe I can find some group of people who will put together holding builds that we can play. I'm not overly hopeful though...I'm not well connected and anyone who knows me knows I'm attached to my not-very-PvP guild.
So when people ask to have favor control over these places removed, what is the standard response? Paraphrasing: "Well, that's how ANet designed it", "We shouldn't unlink the two any further", "Favor makes the game dynamic".
Uhuh, yeah, right. Ok, well, if your definition of "design" or "dynamic" means a weak, almost completely arbitrary linkage contrived of a weak plot device...then well, I guess you're right! I can't argue that operating definition!
People want the two unlinked because the existing linkage is piss poor. I'm trying to become a better PvP player so that I might have some control of my own (and for the record, I have two accounts - one in America, and one in Europe) but the progress is slow...as...hell. And in the end, the one thing I've learned from the HA experience I've already had is that the sheer thrill of the kill, and the highs of victory are rewards about a million times better than UW/FoW access.
I'm not fundamentally opposed to having access to FoW/UW access controlled by PvP experience, but the level of experience required to make a difference is an absurd expectation! The favor system is nothing more than a pointless correlation whereby the elite cream of the crop in the PvP community dictates the play style of PvE players who couldn't care less about them all over the world. That's the problem. The game ISN'T dynamic. FACTIONS is dynamic! In Factions, the PvP element required puts a lot more control in the hands of PvE players and PvP players alike. As a whole people can push the borders of the world, the elite can control towns, and single players can play in large groups for faction needed to get materials for the PvE armors. That, my friends, is a TRULY dynamic game.
And...I pretty well can't explain it any better than that. Favor is...and always has been completely and utterly broken.

It was just an idea I had while sipping my coffee and talking to the other half... I still like my idea
