General features that every online RPG has that this one lacks
Lets see where to begin...
When someone leaves a guild there should be a notification message, same when someone joins.
When someone on your friends list logs on you should be notified same as when they log off.
When you want to add someone to your friends list, that person has to click an Agree button before you can add them and when that happens you add each other.
Your guildmates/friends should have their names highlighted when you see them so that you can bump into them in towns and not feel so damned isolated in the game world.
After each PvP round, statistics should be shown to show who healed the most HP, who did the most dmg, who cast the most hexes etc. as a way of rewarding individual players for their contributions.
A special window to help players get into teams. Eg. you go to Heroes Ascent and click: Search for open teams button, a window appears showing all the open teams and what classes are required to fill them and rank requirements etc.
When someone dies in PvP, their death should actually be notified for once. Eg. a monk dies and a message flashes across the screen: Monky Monk Mo/Me was killed. Same goes for revives.
Well those are all I can think of for now, but these features are so damned obvious and I'm so sick of seeing them in every single online RPG except for Guildwars.

No. No please. I haven't seen that on any other MMO's I've played, nor I do want to see it in any games I play :p

I agree here. Sometimes I just add someone to my friend list just so i can see if they are on or not temporarily. I can put them on to see if they really disconnected or rage quit. I can use to check if someone I need to trade with is online or not. Plus other reasons and these people have no need to have me on their friends list.

You say all those are in every RPG? Ive seen very few to none of them in any rpg...Ive never seen all of them in every RPG...mainly because a lot of them are bad ideas.

As a long standing member of this forum, you must have seen multiple suggestions for the same thing. I agree, it should be addressed by ANet
When someone on your friends list logs on you should be notified same as when they log off.
Notified how exactly ? By some sort of audio trigger ? All of the online RPGs I've played (not a very impressive number) had basically the same system as Guild Wars.
When you want to add someone to your friends list, that person has to click an Agree button before you can add them and when that happens you add each other.
I disagree. Plus this is another feature not present in every online RPG
Your guildmates/friends should have their names highlighted when you see them so that you can bump into them in towns and not feel so damned isolated in the game world.
Agreed, but you can already see guildmates because of the gold tag
After each PvP round, statistics should be shown to show who healed the most HP, who did the most dmg, who cast the most hexes etc. as a way of rewarding individual players for their contributions.
Superfluous and unnecessary. This game does not empahsize individual accomplishments in competition
A special window to help players get into teams. Eg. you go to Heroes Ascent and click: Search for open teams button, a window appears showing all the open teams and what classes are required to fill them and rank requirements etc.
Agreed in concept, an easier way to organise groups is a good idea
When someone dies in PvP, their death should actually be notified for once. Eg. a monk dies and a message flashes across the screen: Monky Monk Mo/Me was killed. Same goes for revives.
Useless, what would this accomplish ? You should already know when a teammate of yours has died or is ressurected, at least beyond a certain level of play. Any team using voice chat can transmit information much quicker than a message. Hell, the party window is as much information as you need.

None of these features are present in every single online RPG

Theres already a message in the status window saying when someone was invited. Saying when someone leaves is not a bad idea thats been discussed here. If you mean displaying in chat window then I dont really see the point.
Guildies already have their guild tag highlighted so you can find them easier. Doing it for friends could be good too.
Something really does need to be done for party formation.
When someone leaves a guild there should be a notification message, same when someone joins.
Leaves yes, Joins, what the hell for? Surely when someone joins your guild the first thing said is *whoever invited them* "This is xxxxx" Or something to that extent.
When someone on your friends list logs on you should be notified same as when they log off.
Why when they log off? Theres no reason for that. When they log on, you should probably just check your friends list more often, its not as if it takes time.
When you want to add someone to your friends list, that person has to click an Agree button before you can add them and when that happens you add each other.
No, just plain NO
Your guildmates/friends should have their names highlighted when you see them so that you can bump into them in towns and not feel so damned isolated in the game world.
As said a moment ago, gold guild name is easily enough.
After each PvP round, statistics should be shown to show who healed the most HP, who did the most dmg, who cast the most hexes etc. as a way of rewarding individual players for their contributions.
Not a single reason for that at all.
A special window to help players get into teams. Eg. you go to Heroes Ascent and click: Search for open teams button, a window appears showing all the open teams and what classes are required to fill them and rank requirements etc.
A decent idea but could hardly be any easier than simply saying LF 1 xxx or xxx LFG.
When someone dies in PvP, their death should actually be notified for once. Eg. a monk dies and a message flashes across the screen: Monky Monk Mo/Me was killed. Same goes for revives.
If you don't know when someone in your team dies, please quite GW now. If you don't think the health bar on the party menu is notification enough you need some medication.
Well those are all I can think of for now, but these features are so damned obvious and I'm so sick of seeing them in every single online RPG except for Guildwars.
Again, i really doubt all of those are in every RPG... They did improve the party information enough, simply showing the team leader w/ a number over him and all people w/o teams have class information is easily enough. You start putting ranks, fame, skills whatever over peoples head you won't be able to see a frigging thing.
Every time I see someone sporting Che's face somewhere, I wonder whether they know what he really stood for.
Isn't he on the Wheaties box in Cuba? (Maybe it was Marxist Bran or Freedom Flakes...)
In reponse to the OP, well, I guess now that you've identified everything wrong with GW you can be 100% assured that your decision to leave the game will have been founded eh?
Mostly good ideas, except we already know who is dead and alive on our team unless we are playing without a party window (only newbs).
Being able to friend someone allows you to track them, even if they don't want you too, I think it should be acknowledged. But, just because someone wants you to befriend him doesn't mean he can afford to use the space on his friends list to add you. So no to the double adding. Kind of like beepers, "Make a booty call if you need it, I'm to busy to call you".
"Acknowledgement", not "Rewards", for max damage, healing, hexing/degen in a battle doesn't reflect the genious of a player who kitted half the enemy team for the whole game, nor cast decisive spells to ensure victory. This is a dumby award which dummies will compete for in the abandonment of good tactics and effective technique. Plus it is an poor use of system memory and resources to tally a meaningless status.
X Warrior does 8 Billion damage, but didn't kill a single unit because he continued to attack an enemy who was continously healed by the monk which he should have attacks instead, in unison with his team, causing his team to lose. Not worth noting.

Are you kidding? That would speed up the join party process 10 fold!
Anyways, Che Guevara stood for freedom through rebellion. Now with that out of the way...
I've derived these simple things from the following RPGs:
Conquer Online
Knight Online
Lineage 2
Everquest
World of Warcraft
Counter-Strike (meh PvP is kind of similar in that we always play the same maps over and over)
I think anyone who strongly disagrees with any of the proposed additions is someone who hates any sort of change whatsoever and should read this article about an Online RPG game developer who has to deal with the same sort of people:
