Oh, I thought Kampfkeks was referring to this thread in particular.
I can't speak for any other PVPers, but I have nothing against PVE players. (Sure it's annoying when someone tries to use a PVE build, like a tank warrior, in PVP, but that's a moron thing, not a PVE-players thing.) I just want to unlock 15k armors so I can have more cosmetic options to play around with. It doesn't even matter much to me that the 15ks are the "special" armors - I just want more options! And it makes me sad to know that there are all these beautifully-rendered armor sets already in the game that I'll never get to use.
I just really like playing with the appearance options and coming up with various nifty designs. Getting the armors on an RP character is of no use to me, since then I'd be stuck with one character appearance (skin, hair, etc), and I'd have to pay substantial gold just to change the colors.
Heh. It just occurred to me to wonder if my obsession with playing with character appearance has to do with my parents never buying me dress-up dolls when I was a kid.

perhaps there could be seperate armor sets for pvp using faction that dont look quite as sexy? this could keep the seperation between those who have spent their time in pvp and pve and give those who play pvp a few more options, also the inclusion of customizing your colors a bit more (meaning not just the solid colors they give you in the pallet) would be nice. Im totally against the idea of giving pvp players more things that are hard to obtain in rpg play but, im getting tired of seeing people in the 1.5k gladiator's armor because it just looks plain awful.
also the inclusion of these pvp armor sets would be able to give pvp players a long term goal and a bit more recognition of status other than rank/fame

Making new armors takes a lot of work, at least to do well. They haven't even finished all of the 15k armors yet. It's just not feasible to add a whole new array of armor sets.
And even if they did add new armors, it seems pointlessly divisive to me to keep them away from RP characters.

Maybe unlock 15k armors through PvE (gold and items)
And "buy" weapons with good mods (chaos axe , 15%>50; With lots of faction of course)
So these weapon types will not be used by PvP, but by PvE, giving PvE an incentive to fight in arenas and such, rather than farming
PvP will have an incentive to do PvE, to get the good looking armors they want

But skill is not exclusive of looks. There's no reason PVP can't have more "looks" stuff. Allowing 15k armors to be unlocked wouldn't detract from the "skill" aspect in any way.

So you are saying the only point to PvE is unlocking armor?
Sounds stupid to me.
15k armor and FoW armor just isn't the same as it used to be.
Maybe Anet needs to crack down on bots spamming links to buy gold.
People don't even have to work for FoW armor.
All they have to do is buy some gold while us PvP's are still stuck with the same thing.
The point is, it's not that hard to get FoW armor anymore.

PvP = Fame Faction
PvE = PvE Armor ( 15k/FoW )
Duh... if u want PvP to get FoW... then whats the point of having PvE at the first place?
and sas stated
PvP is skill not looks
while PvE is showing off

i would only allow this if u had to pay 1.5mil faction for Fissure armor and 500k faction for 15k armor thne i say this would be fair u know y its because people spend hundreds of hours to get this armor then itd get blown off by allowing it in pvp? hell no! like i said 1.5mil faction per peice for Fissure and 500k per peice for 15k then its fair!
so for full fissure ur lookin at 7.5mil faction and for full 15k ur lookin at 2.5mil faction there now itd be cool brcause the pvpers would have to work a crapload to get it too

If you do serious PvP, getting FoW armor doesn't take nearly as long to aquire as it does through PvE farming. I've got a FoW armor set on all 3 of my PvE toons, paid for in full from selling sigils to the sigil trader.
I wouldn't mind having something to spend my faction on though. I'd like to see upgrades to the guild hall available through faction, completely for looks of course.

Stupid though cause in PvE you don't get a perfect 20/20 healing or prot staff. I'm trying to use a PvE Monk in tombs and stuff but its hard when the weapons aren't up to scratch = PvP chars ftw!

I agree with that trying to get something like the armor is the core for the PvE after you finished the game and stuff. Like in other RPG games you are going for an uber weapon and stuff but in GW you are going just for the looks. Same stats.

if anything you should have to pay for the armors in pve, with faction it would make it to easy for everyone to have these things

So its common practice in GWs to keep your PvE characters in PvE and when you want to play seriously competitive PvP you make a PvP character.
I think what could really solve this is to take a completely different route.
Instead of making PvP characters more fun to look at, make PvE characters more flexable.
Within reason...PvE characters that are flexable enough to very commonly grace thier presents in PvP matchs.
Consider this: If your PvE character had the option to be on level 100% of the time with PvP characters, would you make one to use in PvP just to have the unique look you desire?
I discuss it here:

I don't know.... I play my monk as though it was a PvP build. but its not, hes a RP build that has everything unlocked now. Same with my ranger. I mean its just as good as anything I build for PvP... so why not? I have 2 sets of armor so I can make any combo I want with little effort. protection, Healing, Smiting... Whatever... Its all doable in a fully developed RP character. Some people believe Tombs is just for PvP only, but I am not one of them. If Anything its the PvP people that act like they are better then everyone else, with rankist attitudes, not the PvE people... I play what I want, when I want. and if you don't like that, we just take our time and kick your butt in tombs while you bitch about some particular build you don't like... whatever... IMO PvP has rapidly become the place to be for a good time with friends. what pisses me off is the sore lossers, and WORSE the sore winners... you know the ones that love to talk sh!t to you when you get beat. instead of just saying GG and grasiously continuing on...
I love a match in Tombs that is challenging, but just wamming away at a wall, thats not fun and after an hour of it, its not worth wasting our time. In those cases I say, ok enough already, you won by boring us to death... Especially when a ghostly hero is bugged or something, that has happend alot again recently...
Thats when I go make myself a new RP character and try doing something else for a while... I will be very happy on the next chapter to see people move on to better thing, and take their attitude with them... Then some of th eother stuff will be fun again with a typical PUG. anyways nuff rant...

point well taken Ingram.
Im assuming your monk has the best runes for all possible occasions and you have aquired through great fortune the best weapons and mods or you and your team dont feel you need them.
And Im sure that anyone thats maxed out their 4 slots with PvE characters that doesnt want to delete them, and likes to PvP, uses their PvE characters for all PvP purposes.
This is what Im thinking though.
PvP characters were so you never had to wait to play PvP, so you can change around skills across all the classes, so you dont have to be limited to what you PvE character has access too only.
It worked so well that,...usually, people want the flexablity that PvP characters give them all the time.
I hear often - Use PvP characters for PvP if you know whats good.
My experance is this: My prot monk revolves around weapons and runes I havent found or cant afford, so I use a PvP made.
My ranger is almost set, but I still use PvP made rangers for the suprior vigor and other max bow mods that I havent found or cant afford also.
I believe that if PvE characters had more flexablity they would be used more intentionally to have flashy armor in PvP.
THEN we wouldnt care as much for flashy PvP cloths.
I say - increase armor options and all sorts of other uniqueness for PvE characters. Also increase their flexablity so its very closely equal to their PvP counterparts. Thats all.
This solves the - 15k unlockable armor option for PvP characters, without making 15k unlockable armor for PvP characters.

So trying to get rid of PvP players all together is your solution?
It's starting to sound like you want them to get rid of create a pvp player option.

Unless there is a way around this, PvP created character options is good for GW.
So, I dont mean to suggest to get rid of them.
