Log In Log Out: Switch Characters
I for the life of me cannot figure out why this hasn't been instituted yet.
I log in and out to change characters, always having to retype my password and while not the most annoying thing in the world. Why can it not be like email where once you log in it stays on that account unless you confirm an account change (different user)? Or have a place to check off that says: Remember Password and thusly it does for a certain amount of hours.
I do have more than one account but I think this could easily be fixed to where you say different user and it erases the original email and password so that you may type a new one...
Anyways maybe they have their reasons for not implimenting it, if so enlighten me?

I'm not at home, so I am hopefully giving you the correct info, but edit your shortcut for guildwars and after the gw.exe" put in a space and
-password=yourpassword
Obviously substitute yourpassword for whatever your password is. Now it'll just go straight to the character selection screen and when you exit it will go back to that screen.
This obviously works for one account, for the 2nd, unless the password is the same it won't work.

Well, you'd just need two shortcuts if you had two accounts.

yeah it's not, thats why I never used this for my account - my 3 accounts are on 3 different emails and 3 different passwords, so doing that makes it more difficult.
I read all the different gw.exe things you could use and only one was real handy and that was telling GW how much memory to use. But thanks hun!
(and I think 3 shortcuts would be overkill, I wouldn't even know where to start!)

The reason they don't have it implemented is because of people playing in LAN cafes. Let's say your playing in a LAN cafe and you afk from Guild Wars for some reason. If someone wanted to be a jerk they could exit out and delete your character. I've been to a LAN cafe where people leave WoW up when they afk, if somone wanted to they could quickly sneak in and delete the char. I think Anet has stated this reason before.
