Changing it so that 2 of the same runes don't stack will change absolutely nothing. Unless you're doing a solo UW run. See I run a 55...snd well...truth be told...when I'm going on a farming run...the first thing I usually do is die. I like the death penalty...it's my friend. I swap out the off hand....and I get myself to a lovely number of 19. Yep...that's the magic number, at least to me it is....it's so much easier. Anyhow...unless anet decides to nerf the death penalty they really can't stop the solo monks. Even if they did away with the -50 cesta and the double stacking rune...I'd just keep dying till I hit my magic number. It might be a tad more time consuming...as I'd have to keep dying to stay low...but it's certainly not going to change the fact that it can be done.

I agree, instead of going after 55 builds...go after the bots, that would be easier and more effective.

Let's just make a point here, reply on what Justafyme said.

It doesn't matter what ANet does, there will always be people who find another way to keep on playing 55

On a certain point you can't nerf anything more like you already did and even then there will be 55's.. We are just unstoppable

oh yeah, flaming kills all the discussion. Orginal poster had rightfull worries for chinese farming with 55/build, but nerfing that dont fix anything, farmers will always find new way to farm, wheel of life...no can do.

solutions for farming then?...rune health stacking fix? no can do cuz then everyone got all the superior runes without penalties, Fix Prot spirit?...no sense...drops? hell no...only thing Anet is left for nerfing is nerf farming places with mobs that cannot be farmed with 55/build...

reason why all the nerfing is needed is another case, c'mon leave real farmers without bots some way to have fun with gaming, cuz 4 real...some dudes love it.

Never thought of it that way but yeah I guess it would be a glitch. If the bonuses don't stack why should the negetive effect. Same goes for the off hand, if you don't meet the requirements to get the benefit then you shouldn't get the penelty.

You picked the wrong forums to post anti farming. Of course rather than coming up with well thought out counter arguments they just insult instead.
Just send it right back like so: The people most likely insult because they don't even have half a brain and therefore are unable to think of a well thought out argument.

The best counter argument I've seen was "My farming isn't effecting anyone". Um yes it is. I too farm and I hate having to do it. Why do I do it? Because of the negetive effect farming has had on the economy. Sure you can say "How does bringing in more of a certain item raise the price of it? Wouldn't the price drop by lowering demand?" I've explained the answer in another post. In a nut shell they don't sell the sought after items to the trader but rather sell it to other people for more money than what the trader will give while people still continue to buy from the trader (since they have the money from farming and can afford it) making the demand higher than the supply at the trader's point of view. This makes the prices climb but when the price gets to a high enough price the farmers will then just sell it to the trader then waste time trying to sell it to other people. Laziness is the real enemy here. If everyone were to sell their pricey sought after items to the trader you would see prices like the superior absortion rune drop from the price of 50-60k to more like 10-20k and probably stablize around there since it is a popular item.

I see noone has used that quote yet that's been thrown at me and a few others. It's for the best it only supported the the view's of the op. It's fine if you say reach a town and want the new armor but are short 1k so you go out and pick it up. They are however against farming all day which is exactly what you do with a 55hp build.

I dont 55. But i know lots of people who do. I know that chinese gold farmers use the 55 because its the easiest farming build to use.

Fact of the matter is, the chinese gold farmer will find another way, no matter what you nerf. All it does it ruin the fun of those who legitimately farm.

What we need is better bad guy AI and better mob diversity as well as some randomness thrown in the mix. This will make the game harder (HURRAY!) as well as encourage team farming (which is way way way more fun than solo farming).

Imagine if all the instanced zones in GW suddenly had monster randomization. Bots and macros rely on pre-set enemy positions. Throwing a wrench in the mix will make it more difficult. But a human player will be able to adapt and still farm.

economy, well yes...if economy can never be good in online rpg.
but there is another side of the coin as well...if ppls farm much for example greens, green price go down and more the ppl can have cool weapons they love to use...whats wrong with that...

oh I forgot the greed...oh yes the greed...100k+50 ectos for weapon and so on, cant say...If you like its not worth farm greens, do not farm...some one will do it anyway cuz they love it for the farming rounds itself...no profits or anything, they like to play game that way.

I was told that invincimonks, or in this case 55hp Monks, were always part of role play/LARP, and that Anet did it on purpose. I don't know cause I'm not nerdy enough for LARP but thats what I'm told.

As for nerfing 55's, I don't think we need a full-out nerf but something definitely needs to be done to curb all the 55 bots (and bots in general).

There is absolutely nothing wrong with farming. For some of us, it's what we do to kill time on a boring weekday at home. For some, it's how we can afford a weapon or shield we want.

There IS a huge problem with selling Anet's intellectual property on ebay for real cash, however. That is where the problem lies. Unfortunately, honest people have to suffer the consequences of actions taken to slow or stop these people (nerfs).

It was suggested before that Anet simply ask ebay to police their auctions. If "Guild Wars" is in the auction title, and it's not physical goods being sold, close the auction. Simple enough. And ebay DOES police their auctions. I tried to sell my old CPAP that I no longer use, and my auction got closed because it was a device prescribed by a doctor. Well, that was news to ME. Obviously SOMEBODY had to notice it, out of all the millions of items on sale on ebay. Or maybe a script just singled out "CPAP" in the item title. Same script could filter "Guild Wars gold" and close hundreds of auctions in the blink of an eye. I'm still puzzled why this hasn't taken place yet.

One of the reasons that I love the Factions mobs from hell type of wilderness XD.

The solo monk build was already nerfed once, and then the 55 build turned up... so if they nerf this one it will only take a week or two before there is a simular build.

YOU detest it, but many players don't and actually have a 55..

Everyone has it's own type of gameplay, even if the game was made for teamplay.. common, you don't really think I want to play with others all the time right? Im sure many people agree with me !!

Fact is, the game was made to be played in a variety of ways. Running, power leveling, solo farming, etc. If they want to change it, they will. If you want to play a certain way then do so. Personally I detest power leveling, but it can and will be done so I have to live with it.

Anet has nerfed skills and areas, but solo farmers adapt and continue. If they really wanted to stop solo farming they would just stop you from leaving town without a group. There is already a message that pops up when you try to enter a mission solo, so it wouldn't be that hard to implement a solo restriction on leaving town.

okay not a flame, but if u remove double regen, remove double degen.. same with energy, no double regen or double degen..

i seriously dont think u thought that lil part over.

breeze mending watchful = 3 enchant +hp regen

all conditions except dazed and cripple cause degen
life siphon, life transfer, parasitic are just a FEW of teh hexes that casue degen.

as for teh rune stacking, this could be a viable option. but higly unlikely.
as stated almost every group has a mesmer or necro or assasin or ritualist in it.. the combo of spirits, degen, hexes, enchant removal, or crit's that case each spel to exhaust??? thats more then enough to prevent 55ing

nerfing the -75 won't help. You could die first easily enough. Or should they nerf DP too? Infact, let's remove everything from the game, give all items free, and only have people do Thunderhead Keep again? Rock on.

55 monk is for farming. Farming is to get money. Money has only 1 practical use in this game which is purchasing the best weapons. Stuff like fissure armor and dyes are for people with too much time on their hands. The role play people need to wake up and discover that you can make disposable PvP characters with max items with a click of a button.

First we have people saying I shouldn't farm, and now some arse comes along and tells me to NOT role play, but to just role a PvP character!!

No. You have brain damage if you think this is the crux of the issue. You're complaining about farming, and 99% of what 55s can do, warriors and other classes can do too.

Find a way to remove the bots without hurting the normal farmers, and ftw.
