Show equipment in towns
It would be really cool if you could show your weapons/shields off in towns while wearing them. There isnt really a reason not to do it.

I think that ANet decided to not do that because they figured that it's more "natural" to not be wielding a huge sword or axe in town.
Personally, I don't really care either way. I guess it could be cool to be able to show off your ub3r 1337 13w7.

O My Gawd, another post on this subject.
Most drops aren't UBER GODLY LEET, so why show them off? Pretty much everyone has the same weapons but gold items and the rare skins.

Allow it, but make outpost guards brutally mutilate anyone who dares to pull out weapons in a outpost/town/city :>

Maybe an emote which makes you temporarily wield or show off your equipment, then you put it away again.

They could make it so that when you're in a town/outpost your weapon and/or shield is strapped to your back, that'd be cool as hell.
Of course daggers and wands could be strapped to your hips though, and focuses could not show up at all.

It will hurt many people's frame rates. Many weapons and what not are animated and separate entities to the players carrying them.
I won't pretend to know how much extra load that will give to many people's GPU/CPUs but it is quite hefty.
It will also load the ANet servers with more information to transmit also. Since they need to tell your client what the 200 people you are looking at is holding. And sorry but LA/DF are laggy enough already.

Just shout into local chat "I HAVE A BIG PENIS" it gets the same reaction.
xP
No because its just too much bandwidth for such a trivial thing.

man there is a lot of haters now a days, why allow us to wear armor and capes in town? Because we can show off those goodies.
Look if you don't like a thread, don't post in it. Its an excellent idea, and one that should be implemented, what good is a warrior running around with out his sword or axe or hammer etc..... showing on his back

I explained plain and simple why it is just not possible.
You can easily get upwards of 50-100 people on-screen in capitals. Your GPU has to render each *animated weapon*. Secondly, you client needs to tell ANet what you are weilding, then ANet has to tell the 200 clients what you are wearing. The increase in server bandwidth needed would be ridiculous.
As I said before, the capitals are laggy enough already thank-you-very-much.
Lastly, what kind of a discussion forum is this if you are not to disagree.

What would you rather see, armour, or ppl running in boxers?
IRL ppl wear clothes to show off...you dont see ppl walking in town naked.
And if ppl dont like this thread they can say what they want. Sure, some of the stuff is idiotic, rude, etc but when you post something you cant get 100% positive feedback. Thats the way the world turns
