Idea to improve Elite Mission access
Many players are dissatisfied with the available methods of attaining access to the Elite Missions, claiming that it is too exclusive and dependent upon the actions of other players and a hopeless goal for many people. Players on the other position claim that making access easier would cheapen the idea of Elite Missions, render Alliance Standing pointless and be a slap in the face to the alliances that worked hard to control their faction's capital city. I have an idea that I hope can satisfy both camps.
Give access to the appropriate Elite Mission to any player with the Friend of the Luxons/Friend of the Kurzicks, obtained by transferring 250,000 Luxon or Kurzick faction, respectively. For starters, this would fit with the flavor of Elite Missions; it would mean that the players would be such an invaluable asset to his or her faction through individual efforts and contribution that the player's name alone would carry fame, enough fame to be given special consideration by the guards, essentially making the player a VIP in their eyes.
This would in no way cheapen the accomplishment of a top alliance simply because the 250,000 faction required for the title is a very large amount for a single person to obtain, much more than the amount that individual players in top alliances have likely tranferred to their faction. Players in top alliances would still have instant access to their Elite Mission at no additional cost or prerequisite simply for being a member of that alliance, while everyone else would have the ability to take a harder path towards the same goal, but one that still involves the same activity, faction transfer. Moreover, since many players in smaller alliances would no longer feel hopeless about seeing an Elite Mission, this could drive them to obtain faction more than before, since they would know that it is guaranteed to pay off eventually. This could in turn ultimately lead to greater interest in Elite Missions from players, and since the faction transferred would help these players' alliances, lead to greater competition between alliances for the control of cities.
