Empty Trade Window Popup Warning
I'd like to make this suggestion on behalf of Amonster666.
Trading is a risky business. Scams are very common and so are accidental acceptances to empty trade windows.
I'd like to suggest a Popup window warning traders of empty trade windows on the other part. (When someone submits an item, and the other person submits nothing)
Thank you
Garrett

I got scammed (my fault tho) this way. I went to buy a gold armor about 6 weeks ago at a good price. I opened trade window put my 3k up hit submit and accept real fast not thinking I would get scammmed. The other person (slime) did the same with out ever putting up the armor and took my 3k then denyed it ever happened. Once again this was all my fault but a word of advice, Treat every tradse as if the other person is a scammer. This will prevent getting scammed in my opinion

It should be a function like when you try to start a mission with no one else in your party.
"The person you are trading with has put no items or money up for trade. Are you sure you want to accept this trade?"

It's a great idea, but it would be way too annoying when you give people items and other stuff.

Clicking another button would be too hard?
Step 1:*Put in stuff you wanna give*
Step 2:*Click submit*
Step 3:*Click accept*
Step 4:*Click accept again*
It's not really that big of a deal but I s'pose that not many people will be against the idea simply because there's really no reason to be..

agreed, for those of you that fall prey to this scam, slow down and take ur time and run ur mouse over the item(s) and look at what ur getting, if you are the one paying, then dont submit until the items are in the trade window, that way you cant get screwed, and remember, teh trade window is never wrong

there is already the submit THEN accept.
when is the warnings enough? would you then need a "You just clicked a warning warning you that the trade you are about to perform is empty" warning?

Yes... but people can switch the item very quickly, less than a second, and it's irritating to keep having to chech (especially if they are an impatient asshat and get annoyed when you take more than half a second to accept).
The ultimate thing would be a confirmation window, as like in Runescape (yeah, yeah... I've played it, but I only got to level 8 before I got bored).
And the trade screen can be a little confusing when you first see it, looking at the buttons, and you are ripe for th scam at that point.

check all trades you do, even on trading small items check to make sure what the person is offering is what you want to buy.

Or alternatively, a slightly more cumbersome way employed by RO is that, once you put an item into the trade screen, you cannot remove it. Unless you cancel the trade.
But just be more careful TBH, let the "asshat" wait. Who cares if they throw an insult or two after all, they want the business just as much as you do.

I give stuff to people all the time for nothing... Prob most guild do exchanges on inventory for nothing all the time... Not our fault your too lazy to pay attention to what your agreeing too. I'm OK with a You are trading X for Y do you agree message. but still its our own faults if we get suckered into a trade and don't have the courtesy to pay attention to what is going on. 99% of the problems with the trade button and spam with vanish over night when the Auction System gets implemented. which is starting to look more like chapter 3 then this one now...
I don't know about you guys, but I would pay an extra price to have that as an option in my Guild Hall right now. REAL money, just like extra slots per account for $9.99 Common Anet. make us an offer. We will take it in droves if it means early use of Auction system in game.

Why are people constantly trying to protect others from their own stupidity.
I have a better solution, make everyone who starts playing GuildWars take an IQ test, if you don't score high enough you're not allowed to trade at all, not even with merchants because stupid people might accidently sell their weapon.

They should be taking that test before they ever get to Guild Wars. Even before they ever get online preferably.

It's already a silly clickfest when entering a new town after a quest completion.
"Are you sure?" Yes
"Are you really really sure?" Yes!
"Are you absolutely, potively sure you want to enter the town?" FFS YES!
"Are you sure your entire party wants to enter the town?" Holy Hell Yes!!!!!!! I'm with friggin hench, let me in the damned town already!!
"Let's go." *pulls hair out*

Better yet, make it an option that you can toggle on and off. If you don't think this will ever happen to you/you will always notice, just leave it off. If you're more cautious, like me, keep it on. This way, no body can complain!
