the only problem with this is customization, currently all armor is customized as soon as you get it. so I'm assuming they would have to have these customized as well (to keep from having to change too much programming). then what happens if a warrior helmet drops for a ritualist? not much of a point is it?
/undecided but leaning toward not signed

Maybe have a certain 2 or 3 sets of armor for the class you have, everytime the boss gets killed everyone gets one piece of armor according to their class, you can always get duplicates but whatever

This reminds me of RUNESCAPE! That place in that like swampy dead place to the east....Where you go into that place and run through mazes and kill the uber hard 4 guys to get there weps/armour (Yes, I played RS as a member.)
ANet would have to make these armour uncustomized though...I personally dont see the point in all armour being customized, maybe cuz of all the look alikes...

EDIT: I think that the green armours should have stats of other armour, just rare skins.
ie Victo's Platemail, Tanzits Gladiators, etc.

Well, I like this idea, except it would unbalance the game if they made the armor drop with any bonuses that aren't already found on armor at the crafters. It would be a new way to release armor with a new skin, though, and that would be nice. Don't they already do stuff like this in MMO games?
/signed if it doesn't unbalance anything.
P.S. in response to the guy who said you can't wear armor that is dropped in explorable areas, that could easily be fixed by adding an NPC that will customize the armor for you.

i think armor shoodnt be customized and there shood be armor drops like in WoW.
-more variety
-can improve ur armor as u go along instead of having crappy armor then saving up for more cuz then ull b behind.
also then when u get an armor drop u cood sell it

Compare this idea to the enhanced armor equips for some professions.
Warriors get the KD gloves..
Necros get the MM boots...
etc... etc...
They were given that to help balance them up to the standards of the more popular attributes. Although this may seem like a good idea I think there are many other things that should be done before this.

I don't know if you have ever heard of FoW armor, but that is armor that has the same stats but looks really cool. You must be pretty noob not to know that. I am sorry to say that, but it is true. If you need any help with the game or anything, PM in the game this Wednesday after 3:00 PM (i live in arizona). I would be happy to help you with some missions or quests.

Extra damage or speed boost from armor would over power characters. I'm not aginst it. Green armor would be kool, but with the upgrades on it you suggested it would be way over powered. May it could be like fissure armor and have normal mods on it, but have a really kool look.

My arguement is such:
The exact concept as it is, is very unrefined and crude at the moment.
The general idea however does add new stuff to the game, but the fear for me at least is, if they have special stats, that would induce a lot more farm and grind. If its simply for aschetics and bragging rights then go for it >.>
Meh thats just my opinion, I could be wrong...
|
It's deffinatley for the braggin rights...just the enhancements would be an extra bonus

No, due to why the hell do we want some rare uber drop. Over powerment, to its capabilites, and if full set, sooo NO.
The guy talking about ONLY having whole set you get the armor bonuses, it sounds like Diablo 2 LOD.
As to rare skin to armor alone and same stats as regular armor, thats agreed.

OR, we could just like... ya know... give people the Night Elves, Dwarves, Tauren, ect, take away all the towns, give people the option to form parties anywhere, turn the graphics cartoon-ey, and call it World Of Warcraft.
Wait...
