stopgap trade improvments
The purpose of this suggestion is not to stop the trade spam completly or permantaly, but instead to lessen it untill ANET comes through with these trade improvments they have been promising for some time. Yes, this is an ugly fix. I dont intend for it to be permant, but to stay in effect untill the other trade improvments come through.
Simply what I feel ANET should do is pick one or two towns per continent and designate them as trading towns. Then go through all other towns and disable the trade window from working in them, like trading was disabled in the alliance battle outposts during the last factions preview. I feel that this would force all those that are wanting to trade items into the trading towns as they can't trade elsewhere.
Now as to what outposts become trading towns, unless ANET decides to make new ones, I suggest that the following ones become trading towns (though I dont really mind if others are chosen), :
Battle Isles
Guild Halls
Great Temple of Balthazar - Its open to everyone regardless of which chapter/s they own, so it will allow trade between chapters.
Cantha
The Marketplace - currently it does nothing to live up to its name
Post-Searing Tyria
Lions Arch - it seems the most active town there according to game lore, it would make some sense for it to be a trading hub.
Personally I feel that new players have no need to trade with other players, but if you disagree I would suggest that Shing Jea Monastery and Ascalon City(post searing) would also make good trade towns for them. Per-Searing can be left as-is because there isn't too much of a problem there, or ANET could just make Ascalon City(pre searing) the only trading town there.

nice concept but will never work.
1-you can sell in local chat lol
2-the people in the towns that would become new "trading towns" you would not be able to get a party or anything if this was to hapen.
i beleive that trading is a lil off as it is now as when i seen a guy trying to sell a req 13 archaic ax that was white the other day lol. but it will never be flawless no matter what they do to fix it.

Well since they've made messages that start with WTB and WTS end up in the trade channel I've been somewhat pleased. However, I'm now just seeing people use w.t.s, wt s, wt sell, selling, (price) for, etc. Personally I'd like to see them add these to their list of words that redirects messages to the trade channel. But there will always be someone who'll find a way around it.
That's why I'd like to see a stall system implimented, where you can basically set up a personal shop and put X amount of items on display and have a set price. Although knowing how people on guild wars are there'll always be someone who needs to do something so that they're noticed. But with a stall system in place a person will be able to go afk and not have to sit there and try to sell what they want. Which will minimize the amount of trade chat going on, so the person who does x....1, x....2, x....3, x....4, etc. will be content with saying WTS fewer times.

The trade channel and local channel dont preform the trades. They just advertise them.
I'm talking about disabling the trade window in all but the chosen towns. So you can advertise a trade, but need to go somewhere else in order to preform the trade.

This is a problem, so we need to pick towns that people dont form groups in anyway.
I mean, have you ever seen a PUG form in Great Temple of Balthazar ?

1 - An auction house would be a much better solution than a stall setup
2 - This idea is only to be used to reduce the trade spam problem untill the other improvments come in
