more status messages
To the build on suggestion with a self post message to whatever your doing such as" afk 5 mins", " sleeping".
What about a status message for:
Heros's Ascent
Team Arenas
Random Arenas
GVG or Guild vs. Guild

Well adding a 'Reason:' textfield below the Player status-dropdown would pretty much cover everything.
Status: Away, reason: Sleeping
Status: Do Not Disturb, reason: GvG
Adding more 'statuses' for different activities is a bit.. pointless imo. Just add a reason-bar to specify :P

Heros's Ascent - Hardly play
Team Arenas - Don't play
Random Arenas - Don't play
GVG or Guild vs. Guild - Hardly play
These are all PvP status messages, it's a pretty one sided suggestion.

Jeez its not RO where you can set up vend overnight.
AFK 5mins is not needed either, its noly needed to warn your guild or team, at which you can also simply say it.
If you are AFK you should be in your GH anyhow.

An idle counter would be far more practical, setting an auto-away/idle message status when people are idle for X amount of time.

Is that really related to the suggestion? You won't be AFK, but doing something, for example doing GvG. Now you could go 'Do not disturb'-mode, but that wouldn't really tell anything to the person trying to reach you. If you'd have an option like in the OP, to set a specific GvG-mode, the person trying to reach you would see that the player is doing a GvG, and could prolly guesstimate a time when they'd be done.
Inflexible, hence my addition that user-settable string would be more helpful.

Some people value their privacy though. If I go to a DND mode, I don't want people knowing where I am or what I'm doing. I'm obviously in that mode for a reason.

Well can't do the picture thing but an easily way for friends know what you are doing at the moment.
Say Friend A- Looking for an extra for HA.
Friend A- Looks at Friends List, and sees Friend B already has his HA message up, and no need to ask him seeing he's already in.
Say Friend A- Looking for an extra for Guest GVG.

Then you obviously would leave the reason-field empty, then they won't know what you are doing. :P

Aaaa. Well, to implement something like this on the picture I did earlier, maybe add the reason-string after the player's name.
I don't see the use for HA/GvG/etc modes as I don't do the pee-vee-pee, so benefit of the suggestion would only go to those doing it actively. Having a user-defineable text would cover everyone, but with current interface wouldn't add new status icons which you apparently are after.
