Echovald Forest enemies way too tough
I've been all over Cantha and the Jade Sea, and got through everything with relative ease. Then I get to Echovald forest and I can't seem to do....anything at all.
Does anyone else think Echovald Forest is a little inbalanced compared to other areas of Cantha? It could just be that the classes I play suck against enemies there, but I'm pretty sure that anyone would have a hard time about it.
I also prefer to use henchmen as opposed to real people so I don't have to suffer any hassle or waste time trying to form a decent group. Maybe full groups of real players have better luck with these guys. I know that if I agro more than one group of anything, I'm screwed. I'm well used to overwhelming numbers from fighting on the Jade Sea and certain other ridiculous areas of Cantha, so that's not the issue.
Normally, I always find ways of adapting and dealing with enemies in any particular area...not in Echovald.
A mantid dreamweaver can just drop a bunch of hexes on me to give me -10 degen while his buddies wail on me (even with 7 other targets in the area) so that even the 2 monks in my group can't save me.
There's other such examples, but I've made this long enough. I'd just like to see the enemies there toned down just a notch.

I'd hate to say it, but you should go with a group through that area if it's too tough.

I think you missed my point, but that's okay since you seem to be more concerned with boosting your ego.
What I'm saying is that it's inbalanced. Even if they made enemies in the Jade Sea areas as ridiculous as the ones in Echovald, I would be satisfied. But the shift from moderately challenging to near impossible is a bit irritating.

Sometimes groups, especially PuGs, have different goals though and have very little long term standing power. You will get a few rare ones that are good and that will stick around for a few quests or exploration, but again, those are rare.
I found Echovald pretty tough at first, but once you learn who the threats are and which foes gotta go first, it becomes much easier. Of course, now when I visit any of the other areas in the game they all seem so easy I find myself returning to the forest for some killing and hunting fun.
Dreamweavers are bad news, I agree... but I think the difficulty on them is just right. When I see one and I'm with henchies I always take a second to make sure nothing else might join the fun when I attack.
Edit: I do agree though, Echovald is tougher (seemingly) than most other areas.

Echovald is only tough because Gardeners are retardedly good monks.

no, i got your point, but thanks for the unnecessary insult, that was nice... You're also welcome to look up the word 'ego' and then relate that instance to my 1 line reply... omg... did I use the conditional 'if'.... I'm pretty sure I did... hmm, guess you missed that one.
You're right though. The Kurzick area was supposed to be fixed after the FPE, because the monster difficulty caused almost all of the players to favour the luxon side. They said that they addressed the imbalance, but it still seems to be difficult.
Mantid dreamweavers use conjure nightmare, the chances that they would use this twice is unlikely due to its ridiculously high cost. If your healers are too busy dying, the dreamweavers arent really that strong to physical damage in the first place, have you tried going in with more firepower? (before you try to insult me again, I really "AM" trying to help you...)

I like the challenge of Echovald. Although... there is this one ele boss that is capable of doing instant kills with 1 spell on a level 20 person with max armor and no DP. That's annoying.
But otherwise, I like Echovald. I haven't played much of the Jade Sea but there are some interesting quests there with like 20 enemies on waving you at once.

I found Nagas way harder to deal with than Wardens, but maybe it is just me...

Heh, it wasn't based on your one-line reply, although that added to it. You seem to be the resident newb basher here, there's at least one in every forum. What you said in reply here further proves that.
I came here because the support people told me to hit the forums, so here I am. Frankly, I hate dealing with people, particularly ones like yourself, but if it means that something can actually be accomplished from it, then so be it.
By the way, what did your "if" have to do with anything other than possibly trying to say that it's not hard and I just suck?

You're probably right, I should spend more time there to try to get a feel for it. Still, it's good to see that someone else aknowledges the excessive difficulty there.

The 'if' ('if' you know how to speak that is) negates the possibility of me being egotistical... which was my point you missed. It seems were both going through a phase of hit and miss^^. But that's just your opinion apparently. I still missed the part of me being ego, so you got it from something aside than my one line post??? I'm going to sit down...
I'm sorry if you think you suck and you're a noob (neither of which I even said or claimed that you were, at least learn to quote)... But coming here in the first place clearly proves yourself wrong. I never said you suck, you said it, I just said it wasn't as hard as you are claiming it to be.
I run an anti-hex mesmer build through echovald, that's why I find it easier to deal with mantis'. But you're inclined to disagree, just try and not go around insulting people... honest to god, I WAS TRYING TO HELP!!! I think the support team gave you bad advice in coming here if all you were going to do is throw insults.
I forgot something....

When did I say I was a noob? "At least learn to quote", right? And no, that's not how I think of myself. And while I know you never said it directly, I still feel that that's what you were trying to imply.
No, you weren't trying to help me. Telling me that I should get into a real group if it's too hard has nothing to do with the real issue. I can't help but assume that it was to put me down.
Once I've finished dumping all my gripes with the game here, I'll be gone unless something else comes up. So until then, I'd appreciate it if I didn't have to take crap from you. In turn, I won't bother you anymore. I'm confrontational by nature, but if I want a flame war, I'll go to a theological or political debate forum, I don't need it here.

I'm going to go and play echovald, I've already signed it, hopefully Anet will fix this soon. It was actually funny to see that there were just tons of Luxons and hardly any Kurzicks during the FPE, but it's already starting to balance out. In an interview... somewhere, forgot the guys name, he said himself that this was supposed to be fixed... so I wasn't lying there... I just cant remember the reference^^ sorry...
(our posts are going to get deleted, once again... but I dont care...I stuck on topic for once :P)
I'm really sorry if I came off that way. Im really really really really sorry^^
I have a cookie^^ here^^
Actually I did quote where you implied yourself a noob in the only way possible in the quote, which I will re-quote and underline.

This refers to YOU being a noob simply because you've made the assumption that I hate noobs, and in order for me to hate noobs, (which I dont) you would actually have to be one (which you're not)

Nothing hard about it. Dredge Gardeners are problematic, Oni can sometimes be a lot of trouble, but once you spend a little time in the area its just as simple as the rest of Cantha.

I think you made this thread just to start an argument. I don't know what you're trying to prove, but all you're doing is making yourself look like an idiot.

Thank you for your suggestion Janus_Zeal, but you and Terra Xin can settle this elsewhere.
Closing this before it gets out of hand.
