Basically, this boils down to the main problem with the whole Meta Game.
Unless you own a town, the whole war is ultimately pointless. It becomes a faction farm for Jadeite/Amber merchants. There's no way to get you smaller Alliance recognized for outstanding skill or achievement. There's also no mid-ranged rewards for Faction points. It's either Special resource or the Cities/Elite Missions.
And to most GW players, it's about the faction/rewards. Pride in your Faction is rarely in the equation. Sad but true.

Yeah but it would be nice if for instance when Kurzick took the Leviathan Pits the other day that all Kurzick get the option to map there and have a look around, and spend some money.
What if they had it so the rarest set of 15K armour was crafted when Kurzick / Luxon takes over a town that deals in 15K for the other side.
That way very few people would have this armour, and the entire alliance would have to push hard to get it.

Towns in themselves are a little disapointing, capturing them gives you scant reward (only a slight discount on a regular merchant and fireworks, and that's only in the better towns), unless you own one of the elite mission places.
