You dont have to leave your guild to buy armor from the other side... Just make your personal faction more for the side you want to buy the armor from and you'll be able to talk to the NPC's on that side.

Say the yellow gang hates the green gang and vice versa. If the green gang see a yellow gang member, will they be nice or will they refuse to talk to them and be rude? Think about it.

I have no problem swapping between the two sides the way things are.
Oh a little side note, you can bribe the priests in the shrines of the faction opposite to yours (otherwise the shrine just won't activate) and buy the blessing as well. You can also fight them for the shrine which I find amusing.

/unsigned as you will always have Kaineng center NPCs to trade with. If you want the armor, work for that side

Even if you are Luxon/Kurizick you'll be able to roam freely around thier areas. Only merchants, traders etc. wont talk to you.
To make them talk to you, even if your guild is allienced with the opposite side, is just do a couple rounds of the repeatble missions(on the opposite side).

Why? Just because you're trying to save the world and can bribe them with money, like a Xunlai agent if you want but with faction, 1000 per npc, then once you pay that off you can access that type of NPC in any enemy town.

I Actually think it would be cool if when you went to a town/outpost controlled by the opposing faction it started a combat between you and everybody else, players and npc's.

Ugh, no thanks. PvP moves the battle lines. If PvE players can't enter a town to do something because the other faction (via battle lines) has control of the town, PvE would be further reliant on PvP.
This also creates the infamous PK (player killing) and massive amounts of griefing within the game.
As is, the system is rather easy to work with. My Alliance is Kurzick, but I really liked the monk Luxon armor. I didn't disband or anything so I simply didn't do any Kurzick faction gaining for a few days and gained enough Luxon to get what I wanted.
