Cinematics
Plain and simple, change the cinematics work. Make it so you can skip the scene and even if everyone else doesn't, you can move on.
The only problem is if a certain event happens after the scene, well we all know that the scenes run in real time (given minions attack anything in the cinematic until they die), so just make the skipped character as part of the realtime.
I finally got my sin through the game yesterday making my seventh char through factions, and I was clawing my eyes out and stabbing my eardrums having to watch that rediculously stupid ending cinematic again.
More times than not its 7/8 or 5/6 or somethin like that. Why should the whole group have to watch the movie AGAIN because the wammo is a nub and a selfish punk.

You skip cinematic: healer doesnt...There is a mob right away (Which happens) and you are towards the end of the mission...you die along with half of your group...you must now restart the mission...

**Also someone isn't considered selfish for wanting to watch a cinematic...just because he has not had the game as long as you doesnt mean he is a 'punk'. Whatever that is...i dont speak idiot...

1 This would be hard to implend for anet
2 You would need to rework ALL the cinematics, including the chapter 1 cinematics.. (how would you make the "going to presear aka searing cinematic " realtime and playable " ?)
3 You can allways get a can of beer in the time you have to wait
4 No more interesting group screenshots
5 As a newcomer you would be rather pushed forward istead of just watching those (on the first time) interesting cinematics...

For cinematics at the end of a missions or the entery of a new town (mission town) they should have a break group feature, that way you don't have to stay with the party after the objective is complete. When the cinematic is over your just going to end up in a new town, so your not moving into any threat, nor betraying your team, your simply moving on without them.
For Start and Mid-Mission Cinematics, the current skip feature is optimum, some people may not care for it, but no one should be deprived of the storyline just because others already got their veiw in, or don't care about story, and moving on with the mission without your members isn't acceptable either. But at the entry of towns and at the end of missions, those members will just end up in town after they finish their cinematic, and they are just holding you up with their interests for no reason, so it would be great if you could just leave party and skip cinematic altogether if you do not wish to stay.

They should freeze health and energy during cutscenes to prevent death/loss of bonds/loss of minions during cutscenes. For ending cutscenes, Bahamut's suggestion about letting people skip through those sounds like a good idea.

they have it 8/8 to prevent selfish jerks who have rushed the game from spoiling it for someone seeing it the first time.
oh geee and you wanted to cheat them out of the game ending because you had already seen it?

/sigh.... Another one of these, huh?
Check the Index. Do a Search. If after all that you don't see your idea previously discussed then make a thread about it.
As it happens your idea for skipping cinematics has been discussed... many, many, many times. I can refer you to several threads, but you may as well just do a search in the Sardelac forum for "cutscenes."
