Talking Weapon upgrader

Ok hear me out, this game is based on balance? Good. Well I think it would be nice to have a npc that would be able to raise non perfect unmodable mods to a bit higher, up to max (I'm not saying the modded should make weapons uber)

Example.

You have a Zodiac staff stats as follows

11-22 (req 12 divine)
halves casting times of healing spells (18%)
Halves recharge of healing spells (17%)

Ok, this is just an example.

The merchant would be able to do the following, based on the quality of your weapon. (being rare, or color)

Lower your requirement of the weapon by 1 ~ 10k (and can keep doing it until 8 or 9)
Raise casting times of healing spells by 1% ~ 10k
Raise recharge of healing spells by 1% ~ 9.5k (because it is lower %)

Keep in mind, I don't mean for this merchant to be able to upgrade modable parts, just the unmodable. So you won't be able to upgrade your energy + 4 staff head.

This would be a huge money sink, and would make use of your almost perfect zodiac staff that dropped for you.

Thanks for reading.

hmm.......

then "pefect" weapons would be accessible to pretty much anyone who holds on 30k...

i feel an economy crash, because perfect weapons will become cheper then ever.

You'd have to pay 10k per point to raise it. That isn't unreasonable or economy breaking in my oppinion. For example, you have a 5-12 damage wand; to upgrade it to perfect damage (and just the damage) you'd have to spend 100k.
Of course, there should also be some way to restrict you from spending money to upgrade a 0-requirement weapon, or something like that. People running around with 0-requirement, perfect weapons would be scary (or just a really low requirement).

yep, it would stop at 8 or 9. if 8 it would be really expensive.

No, he's talking about the other way around. Not lowering the requirement of a near perfect weapon, but raising the stats of a low requirement weapon.

Lets say a no requirement 5 armor shield drops in presearing. Somebody could raise the armor level to max at 16. Then they'd have a max, no requirement AL 16 sheild that a caster could use.

Interesting idea, but just too much room for abuse and would totally screw the economy.
