Drops - Staff affixes fix
I ve been doing some thinking (doing that a lot these days )
staff drops might need a lil fix here...
most of the time we HAVE TO use the collector or green-crap versions of staves.
We should have a lil more chance of getting that 20/20 mod on em
look at a perf sword, u just have to drop the max dmg, the 15% mod and mod it with hp, armor, etc as needed and it's done
when it comes to staves, if we want it perf, we dont rlly have a chance at using rarer skins than collector ones.
when they drop u gotta look at- dmg
- req (detail most casters are rank 16 in it)
- type of req (fire, earth, smiting .. A LOT are available )
- additionnal mod (FC/Reload/Reduction of a Cond..ALSO a lot in there, when u have one.. some are w/o bonuses)
means u end up with staves like
req 9 fire +19% FC water spells +20 reload healing spells
req 13 communing +20% FC Death Magic reduce blind 20%
and stuff like that
it's almost impossible to get a perf one unlike all other weapons ...
Solutions:- make those additional affixes mods like hp/energy/armor
- when both FC and reload affixes are generated on a staff, they should be of the same type/element

I think it's plain ridiculous having a fire staff/wand with water recharge bonus. Sometimes these span across professions which is the most ridiculous of them all.

exactely. I always wondered why would they let things jumble up like that. I prefer other kind of crap than that tbh.

I think the problem is that casters have all the same weapons so everything gets jumbled up. I'd like to see the attributes tied to the profession at least.

Jumbled yes but if anet would want to they could fix the problem (at least to keep them in one prof) in a jiffy.

yeah i get alot of that sort of merchant fodder, and it is pretty annoying. what i'd really like to see though is the variety of pve staff wraps available for pvp.

but not 9 req. fire with 20/20 curses...
/notsigned for +5 energy or +HP mods

im a little confused on why people care about the req for wands and staffs are. Are you planning on wanding something down do death? Req may matter for your offhand but it doesnt matter for the damage. Hell your wand or staff doesnt even need to be max damage just make sure the other mods are perfect. Leave the hacking to the warriors and rangers, casters worry about casting spells and all that stuff, you shouldnt sit their wanding monsters, its useless.

Very true. You don't exactly get perfect bows, swords and axes with Req. fire do you? Though a Req. earth/ice/fire bow would be nice :P.

on top of that customization bonus for caster weapons need to be changed into something at least remotely useful. Don't even start me on chioce of caster weapon/focus skins compared to bows/melee weapons.

I too once had a staff that spanned across 3 (but thankfully not 4) profs. It makes me wanna swear when I see a perfect staff (meaning all mods are max) but then you need to have a 3rd profession to use it.
