Suggestions to make the game better
After playing this game since it came out, here are some suggestions to make the game better:
- Better path finding: I find the pathfinding in Guildwars almost non-existent. This is essential now with the advent of binding rituals and MMs everywhere. Especially in PVP, when the guy is nearlly dead and you get stuck behind two closely packed binding rituals. It's very frustrating. And since this is a competitive game.
- Bigger effects: There should be more obvious effects on the character rather than just the usual halo of smoke. One effect which I really like is the armor of Earth, where big rocks come from the ground and float around you. Why do they have to dissappear into you? Keep them there or make them a little smaller, it's only for 30seconds anyway. bloody effects for Necros (ie blood splattering everywhere), bigger plague clouds, curses with their own effects like blackout has, etc.
- Better rewards: 15k armor just for looks? 40 hours worth of farming ecto just to get the same armor I got a month ago? Seriously, add a little bit more than just looks. Maybe put some PvE only attributes etc.
- Ability to exchange armor: imagine a whole new market arriving when we are able to trade our armors to other people. Maybe put a level cap on the different types of armor etc.
- Jewellery: What happened to the magical rings and amulets? Add some jewellery please. Again, make these tradable.
- More armor parts: I guess this is a personal request. Having more armor parts gives us more ways to customize our character. Some people probably don't like it because it's too fussy.
- Ingame auction halls: I think everyone wants this.
- Ability to setup own shop: Trying to sell that 250 steel? Bored of yelling? Look at Lineage and copy their code Anet.
- More ingame mechanics: The game is still incredibly simple. There's no information about how much critical % we are getting. Or how the shield blocks attacks. Or how much dmg we are really doing. They should have a character screen that shows all these things.
- Rendered Cinematics: Add them in the game, don't just release them as teasers and leave them out of the game.
-------
I hope some of these get into the next expansion pack.

- make monsters to drop loot (very rarely) even if your party has no part in killing them

What so the farm happy can have an advantage? Not a chance.

Not needed in any way shape or form...

Again, so the farm happy can flaunt their super jewely? You must farm a lot and want to feel special..

So armor costs more. Basically you just wanna be able to show off your full set of 10 15k pieces.

Defeats the purpose of the auction hall...

Shields don't block.. critical hit % you can learn at guildwiki.org, it shows how much damage your doing??.. A dps counter would be interesting.

Since this was just patched I'd say it's not coming back. So, not happening, messy, and not needed.

path finding is fine. kiting is part of the game, if you can't find a way around to spirits. you don't deserve the kill
effects: no reason to change this, the effects are cool, you can tell if someone is hexed, poisoned, blined, enchanted.. also the blood thing with necro's.. this game has a rating you know.. blood everywhere just means less people playing also, every skill has its own effect allready, just look at them
better rewards for 15k armor?? excuse me, who says you have to get it, it costs more for the looks, and thats it, if thats not enough to makee it worth it, then don't buy it, simple
exchange armor: no never. bad idea. possibly the worst thing you could do to the game
jewlery: more grind, more gimmic builds. no reason, pointless
more armor parts: no, bad idea. its fine as it is now, it would just make it more expensive thats all
auction: while this is cool for real players, i am against it because it makes it extremely easy for bots to sell things, which makes them better at bringing in gold.
shops: same as above
ingame mechanics: there are plenty of ingame mechanics, and i can guarantee you this is just as complex as any other game, i would say more, because you can't just look at your attributes and be able to tell who wins, there are a lot of "hidden mechanics" which i personally like a lot
rendered cinematics: its an ok idea, but i think they just need to make some better cutscenes instead, the ones now have really bad camera movement, and are just boring to watch, ingame animations for attacking just isn't enough.
monsters dropping loot from monster vs monster battles:
hmm, great idea. i want to get something without working for it. that seems like a great idea. not unbalanced at all.... ... ... ..... yea.. that was infact sarcasm incase you were wondering

Great thread Wankey. Or at least great idea. I agree, I would like more recognizable effect on people so I would know if I should use a condition removal, or just ignore it.
I would love a stat screen, so I could see what my current build is doing in real numbers. That way, I could compare builds, and tweak my skills without having to go to Wiki to use averages. One negative to that, it would absolutely eliminate any unid. item sales. Too easy to cheat at that point.
I would like to see some hidden rooms, chests, and such. Maybe have them random, so people don't find, and then everyone would know about them.

Oh wankey, why do you do this to me? It's quite specific in the forum guidelines.

If you have ideas that warrent discussion, post them in their own thread. If you have some ideas that don't really need a lot of discussion, post them in the Index of Ideas. And of course, make sure that any idea you suggest has not been suggested before by checking that index and using the search function.
Sorry, I have to close it. I take no pleasure in this. *Bitch-slaps wankey*
