Default Worst scam you ever encountered.. *no names*

Well, today I was scammed for the first time I've ever realized it (meaning I may have been scammed as newb and just not remember it).

Today this jerk was looking for a power leveler so I volunteered. We agreed on a set amount and I even told him he should try ascending once I got him to X level to save him some money. Well, I got him up his one level and he left. I was incredibly angry and I swear I will never power level someone again.

So, tell us, how have you been scammed, and remember: NO NAMES!

Um.
One time, in May of 2005, I gave a Red Dye to someone for 100g, not knowing that they were worth 500g at the time.

That's the worst I've ever had. Seriously. I don't get scammed. Lots try but I'm very observant of these things, hearing so much about them. I never really got scammed in Diablo either. Lots of people tried that old "switch the enigma with the quilted armor" trick. Never worked.

never been scammed, had every scam going tried against me though...i'm just not scammable ^_^

The worst i've had thrown at me would be the crystalline sword scam (both the swap for pre searing and the 'pay now in gold for really cheap, then get the sword'), in theory you could loose a severe amount of cash in either scenario. We all know who liked to use this scam.

That one time in Runescape.. (RS SUCKS)
I was doing stuff together with this guy. All of a sudden he tells me he has to go somewhere and tells me to meet back at some castleplace that isn't that far away.

So he rushes off and I stroll behind him and meet him again. He's like "OMG I LOST ALL MY ITEMS".
He thought it was a bug or something but I already knew he was BSing me.

So to screw around with him, I offered to give him some stuff so he wouldn't be moneyless.
So I'm giving him all these things that take up an entire inventoryslot. So much useless crap he quickly fills up his inventory..
Then he starts DROPPING all the crap he still had in his inventory and I'm still feeding him crap.. almost getting a heartattack from laughing.

He just kept up the act. Kept telling me he lost all his stuff, he stood there, nude. I was LMAOing and eventually just gave him some decent equipment because he made me laugh so hard. Still he kept denying he tried scamming me and kept the act up until I had to go.

That was so funny...

That's the worst and only way I ever got scammed (not really scammed but still )

I did get into a lockdown a few times when some of my mortal enemies figured the only way to harm me was by buying up everything I needed to buy (some other game). They worked hard to gain a monopoly just so I couldn't get access to any weapons that I needed (there wasn't any other way to get the weapons other than being extremely lucky. In GW, the same ratio as finding a max fellblade in trollcave)
The only way to fix that was by destroying the source of the weapons so nobody had anything.

Doomsday ftw eh..

It's glad to know that there are smart people who play Guild Wars. Not those stupid morons who let themselves get scammed and come to this forum to complain about it.

have you been powerleveling before? j/w proably the 1 in 10 jerks you meet that looks for a free ride.

I make people pay right at the moment they level up and drop all the items after each mob (if drops were agreed on)

--my almost scam--
1) learned from D2 back in the days. some guy spams... "WTS 5 ecots for 25k to the first person who opens a trade window with me" so i msg him and tell him i'll buy them all for 25k.. responds.... etc... i open the trade window and put in 25k he puts in 5 ectos and says "hold on let me go check the price fast" .. we go look and he says "ya your getting a good deal" then i said "yep" . open up the trade window again. and i put in 25k and he puts in 1 ecto. then i say " it's 5 not 1" he cancls and i start to say "good try you almost got me"... etc... SS (i think i did) it and what a loser!

2) Have a level 20 SS for 55/SS UW farming. so i needed the -50hp thing and had to do the quest that give it to you but i also need to do the mission that unlocks it. So i start to spam "LFR to run mission" guy writes back. "i can" then i said ya how about 1k. then he says "ok but i get half now" and he joins up and he's lvl 17. i say "no way i'm giving 500g to a lvl 17". What a retard. always half at cut scean (if there is one)

3) --got scammed-- paid some person who i still have on my buddly list and all the SS of it, 80k for an account. paid half. man i'm a noob!

Today someone tried scamming me, 70k for a necrid horseman, kept on opening trade, showing 70k, then closing it. So finally he opens trade, tells me to put up the minipet, I do so, then he puts up the 70k... but it was realyl 70gold. I caught him, and he was pissed.
