I really doubt that. There was a very vocal group of people petitioning and begging for it to stay, at the time, just as is the case now with this minigame. And even to this day people still request it to come back.

Oh trust me, I understand the frustration. There are many times I'm at aspenwood, and I can see a monk working a gate. I'm not generally an ass, so I don't try to control other players actions (god I hate the would be generals... mostly full of bad ideas, but thier parents obviously never wanted to tell thier child that when the call them "special" they meant evolutionary mistake), but I do like to input useful information into team chat. Things like "so and so is bonding orange"... or "so and so is healer, keep him moving." But it gets... irritating... when people proceed with wasted attacks on the npc... who is essentially invincible until you deal with the monk... So I understand.
...
But I would never make a general assumption about a whole MILLION people (obvious esstimate about the pvp/pve split). I just don't see the point in making the game unpleasant for new players to play. It really is just a game.
Oh, and I'm not directing this at you gus, just seemed a good lead in to my rant...

Yeah, but more or less past the time that it would have made sense to do anything about it. Now that they've had more experience with it, they probably expected a response like ours, and would be better able to impliment something that made sense sooner. That's my only point... I'm still not sure I made it clearly.

this has to be kept special, keeping this will de-value its playability, and if it doesnt, it will cause many other areas to become less populated.

Definitely the most fun I've had in PvP for a long time. For those who complain about high ground camping, it's easy to counter if you understand dodging and counter-attacking.
Also it's easier than organising a group of mesmers with 5 super runes and lightning orb just for a quick dodgeball game.

I will sign this as long as they change the skill bar the way it was on Winterdays Day Festival.I don't like the idea of 5 res sigs and only ele skills.

just make an actual dodgeball minigame and scrap the dragon arena after the dragon festival.
It would be good if ANet made more minigames too, but there are obviously more pressing matters at hand.

Actually if you're higher up Ranger Skills and arrows increase in range, and not by a little.

I don't see why not the festival cann't be kept all summer.

I don't think it should be that special. Ture keeping it will devalue it, but than its only as an optional playable arena, so it should be fine. Just have a differnt one next summer to keep things fresh.

So show me which of those skills were marksmanship skills and where your bow was...
Being high up means your orb is in the air longer, is more predictable, and allows you to dodge easier... Damage has nothing to do with an instant kill mini-game skill.
I want them to keep this, but Gaile already said she thinks the games are more special if they are temporary... Boo I say! Boo to you Gaile!
I want a mini-game island.
P.S. on the plus side, she said that people's interest in the games of chance were noted...

KEEP the Dragon arena PLEASE

I've had more fun in the dragon arena than most of the game.
It reminds me of 007,Perfect Dark, or Timesplitters with one hit kills.
More PvP games like this will keep me playing Guild Wars.

I agree, Dragon Arena is by far the most fun thing in the game. Take it out and I will probably play GW 90% less.
