Petition to Anet: KEEP Dragon Arena!
Sign the petition (reply /signed) if you agree.
I have played a few rounds of Dragon Arena, and have found that it is a wildly strategic form of Random Arenas that could be a benefit to the game if kept on a more permanant basis.
My reasoning behind this is that Dragon Arena puts everybody on even ground, not to mention forces an entire team to work together and adds the twist of movement strategy to it.
Example 1 - Two players face off somewhere in the arena. They could spend endless time just dodging each other's projectile fire before having to resort to using strategy and basic cleverness to outsmart the enemy. Additionally, a combination of speed and the touch/knockdown skill, followed by a quick projectile shot is an excellent combo, if executed properly, for dispatching a pesky enemy. This far exceeds the quality of RandomArena's general play-as-you-would-normally-and-ignore-the-rest-of-your-team approach to combat.
Example 2 - Teams are forced to orchestrate a basic strategy on how to accomplish the objective (20 kills) that includes, but is not limited to, advancing through the arena, retreating to high ground or splitting up and attempting to surround the enemy.
It is because of these reasons that I think a player-vs-player area similar to Dragon Arena would be a welcome addition to the game following this event for anybody demanding a little more challenge in their PVP experience.

I'd be more willing to sign this if it was the snowball arena.
Though I guess a Random Holiday Gimmick Arena would be neat.

yeah, it's sweet. They took the basic guildhall dodgeball game people were playing and put it together nicely.

Same petitions were made for the snowball arena, and that was more fun, but it went bye bye. It won't happen.

and double so for bringing back the snowball arena!
I just wish they had more little distractions like these to round out the game. Sometimes you just don't care what Shiro is up to or where the battle lines are at this three hour period.

why... just roll a mesmer with 105 health, windborne speed and lightning orb, and I guess shock if you wanna be just like lightning arena... and then just go with a bunch of guildies on imperial isle and have your dodgeball fights..

They should make an arena called "Holiday Arena" When you enter you have a chance of doing any of the holiday pvp arenas (sorta like maps in RA).

You can pretty much play the dragon arenas with friends, imperial isle, 105hp mesmers with orb, windborne, both attunements... it would appear that's where anet got the idea from... can't remember who made it, but it's always been great fun playing dodgeball with guildies

It's things like this that make GW so amazing, ridiculous little games that are more fun than they should be... although perhaps its because its special that its even more fun, if it were available all the time perhaps it wouldnt be so great... hrm... the dilema...

I do think they should make something similar - maybe a sealed deck or set skill bar arena. where you dont get to pick your skills. A great place to not worry about crap like builds but just be able to play the damm game. It would get get alot of people more interested in PvP, thats for sure.

Every game I see people turtling up on high ground, taking much away from interesting dodging game into a boring waiting game.

People think the height advantage means anything, which it doesn't. The only strength to camping up top is that the bad enemy players generally get impatient one by one and come to attack at which point you have 6v1.

Dragon Arena is boring, most people camp the high ground, and the end leads to massive res point camping.
Its a holiday arena, and it should remain as such...

Also can a mod move this to the Suggestions forum.
