I made a little 20 minute sketch while sipping some tea...Heres some ideas of what the ceramicist could look like, as well ideas of the various vessels and the kiln.

Create Soft Plate
10e, 1s, 30r
Molding Skill: This skill cannot be used if holding any vessel. This creates a small soft vessel. This vessel can be used for a distance attack that deals 15-28 damage. If the attack hits, the vessel will break and cause (5-18) damage to nearby enemies.
|
Too Weak.
I suggest
5e, 1s, 0r
This vessel can be used for a distance attack that deals 3X piercing damage.
If the attack hits, the vessel will break and cause 2X piercing damage to foes in the area and cause them to suffer Bleeding for 25 seconds.
Quote:
Face Gouge:
10e, 1/2s, 60r
Bare Hand Attack: This skill requires a free hand. This attack causes +(8-20) damage and causes blindness for (2-5) seconds.
|
Recharge time way too long.
I suggest
5e, 1/4s, 30r
This attack causes +2X damage and causes blindness for X seconds.
Quote:
Elegant Takedown:
10e, 1s, 60r
Bare Hand Attack: This skill cannot be used if you are holding a vessel or weapons. If this attack hits, the target enemy is knockdown and suffers earth damage of (12-30). You cannot attack for (3-1) seconds after this attack or use a skill.
|
Recharge time too long!!!
5e, 1s, 30r
If this attack hits, the target foe is knocked down and suffers additional earth damage of 3X. You cannot attack for 3-X/5 seconds after this attack or use a skill.
Ok... I must say most of your skills have way too long recharge time... you are not an elementalist, not supposed to have that many long recharge time skills.

What has this world come to? Seriously. Your idea is original, but unless I want to have a tea party with the monsters I'm pretty much screwed. Why the hell would I need a portable pot maker anyway? Ah... Ah ha ha ha.... HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! What the HELL MAN? What the hell were you thinking? He can't even make ash trays. Not that he'll need to, since we already have RITUALISTS making urns. Now if only we could have a Weaverist to make baskets out of "small fibers so they have the patience to die repetitively because not only are they useless, but wear baskets for armor. Actually that's not that bad since monks wear tattoos for their armor. If I was a monk I'd tattoo my body and wear judge's armor."
EDIT: Yen... You're an idiot.

This is my firstest post ever.... I'm new to this entire dealio... but coming from my position of an average player, not overtly obsessed with geeky details, I freaking love this concept. Admittedly not something that's ever going to happen, but in terms of concept classes, (which I understand this part of the forum has something to do with), it's quirky, origional and innovative.... if not slightly insane
One of the main reasons I picked up Guild Wars over all the other mmorpg's is the 'Mesmer' class.... simply because i felt it was something different, a little odd... and something that could become annoying beyond all belief if played well.
thankyou for your time -grinz-

I stopped working on this concept because:
1) The Ritualist already has skills similar to my ideas.
2) The 12 on 12 arenas already have items you can pick up and drop for buffs/res/ etc.
It doesn't fit in Guild Wars? The problem is ITS ALREADY IN FACTIONS.

Erm, what?!?
Are we sure this wasnt posted on April 1st, cos its just too much. Very, erm, 'original'. Perhaps he could have another attribute as well 'glass blowing'.
I can just imagine the fear on the faces of those Other proffesions, armed with sharp steel, powerful spells, or a peice of wood with arrow notched in when they come up against a guy wielding dual China Clay pots, desperately trying to keep his fire from going out. 'R6 potter lfg!' will surely become the phrase of the day in tombs, as people desperately search for a decent clay spike team. I think you need to make a build more intone with what you have been doing recently, ie smoking some crazy plants. Herbalist Perhaps :P

Actually, i quite like it. Its a damn site better than all the other unorginal characters, but i coudnt miss an opportunity to have a laugh at youe expense. Sorry . It seems to be a variation on ritualist skils with ashes, which i love. The problem is that making pots doesnt really match the fast paced PvP game. The concept does, in a way, but in execution i think it would be out of place. Ou of lace is good of course, but not that out of place.
Also those skills need tweaking.
All in all tho, /unsigned, but pls dont stop thinking up builds, occasionally a really good one comes along. *suggests Herbalist again *

I got to say that this is the most original and interesting class concept ever, I got to hand it too you.
Although I don't think artisans in battle are very realistic, this isn't completely unthinkable. I hate to read skill list too, but it is much better explained by the example skills since it is such a unique idea.
Props on Great Development, I will admit that I would probably never play this job, but it is a damn good concept.

WOW! This is by far the most original idea ive heard in a LOOOOONG time. And for those of you who say it wouldnt fit in, just imagine how fun it would be to throw ceramics at enemies. "Haha! I throw this plate at you!" *shatter* "Bullseye!"
however, the whole not equipping weapons is a bad idea, because a lot of mods can be very beneficial to the user. instead of having weapons, have the ceramicist have like the clay as an equip or the kiln, or maybe both. (kiln as primary, clay as offhand). These would not function the way weapons do, but they would determine the strength of your attacks (and the color of the super clay pots you will be throwing n_n)

Amusing to be sure. Following Anets trend of skimpy 15k armor I am sure the female version would just be nude and caked in clay!
