Please stop PvP areas counting to explorer titles
This is specifically with regards to Grandmaster Explorer titles and particularly PvP areas counting as "explorables".
I think it's a bad idea and here are some reasons why: the folks going for explorer titles will want to go round edges/wallhug etc. This can be to the detriment, however slight (or major) to the other players who are there 100% for the PvP.
Most mappers probably don't want to be inconvenient like that I must say (as a 100% cartographer of both campaigns am probably biased lol)
Also more specifically you have situations such as Jade Quarry which is deserted on both sides virtually all the time, yet still counts towards the titles. Imagine having a situation where that was the last 0.2% or so and nobody ever being there, like ever. Can't even get in with henchies. That would be very frustrating for the mapper.
You also have messy situations where some people got old/defunct Arenas as well as beginner level areas, whereas those who maybe started a bit later have no chance to get those places.
So in short, make (future) PvP areas not count as explorable. I don't think this would really affect anyone at all except for the mappers.

I agree. It makes no sense to explore PvP areas. I doubt the person would be doing much exploring anyway, I mean being chased around by some crazed warriors and a mesmer.

I agree too. I started Guild Wars after they removed the PvP Arenas and made them in RA, and hell, I've tried like 50 times to get into Jade Quarry and no-one joined :S.

There's already a ton of problems with the titles. I.E. Tyrian characters unable to do zen daijun and canthan characters not being able to do Frostgate and other missions for the protector titles. Think about all the canthan characters that get to tyria already boosted to lvl. 20 from shing jea? And you going to have the PVP lvl. 10 arena in ascalon count towards the goal? I mean really, what canthan character is going to start tyria at anything under lvl. 16? I'm going to hold off on these titles until they are Debugged. They should fix things like this before even thinking about releasing nightfall.

I have Protector of Tyria on my Assassin, so I don't see why it wouldn't work the other way around. The only thing was for missions prior to and including Gates of Kryta all gave the party leader a notice of "A character is not from this campaign" or something similar, however everyone was able to get credit for all the missions.

wrong, they are now available, all you need to do is run there from Shing jea Monatery and Seitung harbour, walk in and click enter mission...
they changed it three weeks after factions was released as there was a massive uproar about it...
in fact, here you go:

meh, agreed.
have an 'explorable' area without any enemies just for the poor explorers that odnt want to wait for a team, or, if you get in one, if you dont want to run around exploring being useless for your team. :/ and youll most likely have to enter twice from one side each to get all spots..gah.
about the beginner areas, its not a big deal. it aint for tyria, although there are quite a few you cant access, and it aint for cantha, where its only one arena.
as we all know, you dont NEED those exact 100% of the map, else we would be truly screwed.
also, ANET has made it easier for the explorers as well, by opening to overlook for the event which allowed you to get a nice amount of % there too.
however, for the future (and preferable for existing things), it should definately be changed. :P
im just happy that the AB maps dont count, imagine if youd have to get all places from the 4 maps there are (i think?) o.o
and yeah, about the protector...no deal there anymore, that was fixed quite some time ago. :/
