Default Suggestion: Allow us to Disable (Ally) chat in Alliance Battles

The idea is simple... allow us to turn Ally chat off during Alliance battles at least give us the option to. Just ally chat, not the chat of your own team, which is all you can do at the moment.

I've been in a few matches where someone of another team has continued to spam target attack over and over again, like this:
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Ranger
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Ranger
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Ranger
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Ranger
  • (Ally) Player Name is Using Mending
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Monk
  • (Ally) Player Name is Targetting Kuzick Monk
  • (Ally) Player Name is Using I Will Avenge You!
  • (Ally) Player Name is Using Healing Breeze
Now I figured by turning off team chat I can remove this, but all it did was disable my own team's chat! I could still see everyone elses, along with this above spam.

The best idea would be allowing us disable chat for different teams or people. Not just all or none.

So, you're saying when you uncheck the "Team" box, you still see the "Ally" chat ? I think I understand that to be what you mean, but I would think it should behave just like your own team. It doesn't ?

It would have been nice if it was a filter to its self, so that it wasnt just linked to the team chat. How it always exists, despite turning off team chat seems almost like a bug though.

Yes, even with "Team" chat turned off, you can still see other people's chat. Sometimes it useful, sometimes it isn't.

I think its a "bug" of sorts, which has been created due to the odd why the have allowed us to see other teams chat.

Most of the time I don't need to see what "allies" are saying as it's never useful anyways. Would love to have an option to turn that off.

I dont do alliance battles often since someone always quits and so many people go afk so they get free faction even if they lose and its infested with touch rangers, MM's etc. (flesh golem is seriously overpowered btw)
but when I have done it, the Ally chat was pretty annoying and there were a lot of spammers and pointless messages.

Henchmen talk is a different issue all together, and has nothing to do with Alliance Battles.

But thanks for the /signed

A simpler solution would be to change it so that only typed messages go through. That way if one person in one of the three teams want to tell the rest of their team what to attack, they can do so without bugging everyone else. But then if one team needs help, they can type a message to the whole group to help them out.

Oh and for all you people who apparently didn't do the Factions PVE preview or don't get how an Alliance battle works, the Ally chat is a highly usefull tool. It enables you to organize the three teams so that they have some idea of what the others are going to be doing, without telling everyone in the battle (i.e. the enemy).

funny enough, some time before the update, people where complaining about not being able to see what their allies where saying, now that they can see what they are saying, they want to disable it.

gotta love life

No...

Most team and ally chatter is informative, not when its pointless spam from a griefier.

The idea is not to disable it, is to give the OPTION TO disable when the situation is right.

Same reason we are able to disable local and trade chat for example.

pointless spam that before the update we didnt see

anyway, this happens everywhere, team, random, (maybe HA) and the fort aspenwood where someone would spam it saying

"im using flare on luxon long bow"
"im using flare on luxon long bow"
"im using flare on luxon long bow"

etc.

personally, i would love the option to personally ignore just a single persone like:
everyone has a checkbox next to their name, as long as its checked, youll be able to see what he says, if you uncheck it, you would no longer see whatever he writes in all/team chat.

this option would only be usable at missions/explorable areas.

Don't think that is going to happen, or A.net would have already added it in.

Most we can hope for is a new tab called "Ally" which we can click on and off like all the other tabs.

Um, isn't it called Ignore? Anyway, if you want to "shut up" one person, you could just temporarily throw them on the ignore list, couldn't you? Or does this text get around that? If so, that should definately be fixed.

Or you could cut and paste it, although I don't think this should have to be the solution. Maybe a temporary one.

So, why do we have the "Trade" channel in explorable areas and missions ? Perhaps the "Trade" channel checkbox could morph into "Allies" during AB's, etc...

Temp one, but not ideal. My Ignore list is almost full, and only people who go on there are abusive players, not silly spammers.

Besides why should I be forced to cut and past names and remove them during and after Alliance Battles.

An "Ally" chat toggle is the only solution.
